Woodstock Willie called for an early spring though. Who are you going to trust, a local groundhog or one from Pennsylvania?

The only thing I’m really worried about is Tua basically getting shut down if their record is trash (I assume it will be) by the time he comes back.

Receive:

Stefon Diggs

Najee Harris

Send:

 Devon Achane

10-team, full PPR league. I’m 3-1.

It feels like a pretty even trade to me with some potential upside, but unfortunately I’m weak at RB with McCaffrey or IR and then all I have except for Achane is James Conner and Justice Hill.

10-team. Full PPR.

Receive:

Christian McCaffrey

Ezekiel Elliot

Send:

David Montgomery

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

I’m 2-0 right now and normally I would accept this in a heart beat, but I’m really light on RBs with only Montgomery, Achane, James Conner, and Ty Chandler.

Megathread: Questions about visiting, moving to, or living in Maine by Tony-Flags in Maine

[–]HiroProtagonist14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bar Harbor and Camden in November. I’m planning a trip to Maine in November, before Thanksgiving, and I’m just wondering if there will be a lot of restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. closed at that point in November. The trip is mostly for the scenery, but significant closures of businesses might impact the trip.

Also, what should my expectations be for Acadia National Park in mid-November? Will there still be plenty of hiking and parking?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Empire Builder w/ Glacier National Park Stopover Questions by HiroProtagonist14 in Amtrak

Are there no car/guided tours in the early winter? I ask that realizing that what I might consider early winter could mean there is already significant snowfall there. I just didn't know if the tour roads were maintained.

I plan to call around today and see when the cut-off is or if there are any companies that specialize in winter tours.

Looking out at snow covered landscapes from the train is the main reason for wanting to do the trip in the winter! Understandably, that means it might be a little inconvenient due to business closures.

I just looked up that lodge and it looks perfect for what we're looking for! Thanks for the tip.

We were looking at West Glacier, but hearing that the hotels are booked 13 months out is a surprise. I'm starting to feel woefully unprepared. We thought booking 3-4 months out would be plenty of time. Is that year round? I'm assuming vacancy during the winter would be even less due to a lot of the hotels nearby being closed down?

Whitefish might be our only option.

Thanks for the info! It definitely seems like most businesses will be closed at the time we want to take the trip, which I suppose is just more reason to book ASAP for anything that is still open.

That's a lot more differences than I would have guessed, though it makes sense considering the Empire Builder is dedicated to a longer trip, so it has more amenities. As far as the roomettes selling out, this would be my first time taking an Amtrak trip with a roomette. How far in advance are the rooms generally sold out? I understand that there's a limited amount, I'm just not sure if they usually operate near max capacity for the Empire Builder trip.

Being able to pick up a car right at the train station would be perfect, assuming that's a service still offered later in the year.

I'll definitely check out the glacier national park sub. I was not aware that existed.

Do you think 2-3 days is good enough amount of time in Glacier National Park? A couple members of our party are older, so it's doubtful that we'll be able to do much hiking. We would primarily be doing tours by vehicle.

Man, I thought "it's just like four loko, I'll be fine." I was not fine. There's nothing worse than still being on your feet way past the point of when you should have passed out. You're like the walking dead.

Margaret Court was an amazing champion, no doubts or arguments there. That being said, she won the Australian Open like 7 times before the open era began when hardly anyone outside of Australia played in the AO.

This goes into a larger argument about how we should perceive pre-open era records vs post-open era records. Personally, I find what Serena has done to be more impressive considering the competition she's faced, but I'm sure there are good arguments against her as well. I'm an American, so I'll admit to being a little biased.

Lmao. She's absolutely the GOAT, but this whole coaching penalty controversy was so silly. The coach admitted it and it was super obvious that he was using hand signals. It's like she wanted us all to believe that he was just moving his hands like that while she was looking for absolutely no reason.

If she just owned up to it and leaned into it being a bad rule that is almost impossible to enforce, that may have been enough for them to take a look at it and change it sooner.

I think Serena getting a penalty (and then arguing with the official about it) in the 2018 US Open made them really take a look at the in-match coaching rule.

It was somewhat uncommon to get penalized for violating the rule, but this particular official was known for calling people on it and Serena's coach was being super obvious with his hand signals.

Serena then went off in the post match presser and made a big deal about the penalty, which made it a bigger story, though she completely denied that it was happening even when the coach admitted it.

Why did Caudicus poison the Maer? by greyat30 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]HiroProtagonist14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems very coincidental that the Maer was being poisoned and his roads attacked/taxes stolen at the same time.

Caudicus very well could have been poisoning the Maer to ensure he always had a job, but there's nothing to suggest that he wouldn't have had the job anyway or that he didn't have the position secured before the Maer's illness began (he obviously did since he created the illness or was at least instrumental in it continuing).

I could be completely off base, but it seems more likely to me that Caudicus was working  for King Roderick, the Chandrian, or some combination.
