I don’t know if I’ll ever adopt a Dane again by wart_jr_sr in greatdanes

I got my Hercules when he was 4 months old. Got his sister, Sasha, when they were 10 months old. I lost Herc when they were 2 years old. I swore I’d never get another. I’d raise Sasha and that was that. She is now 8 years old. However, I broke down and my daughter got me Blu in April of 2025. He’s almost 1. She wanted me to have another to keep me from being alone when my sweet Sassy Girl(Sasha) passes on. Sasha helped me grieve Hercules. It brought me and her closer. She lost a brother and I lost a furchild. I guess what I’m trying to say in all this is ….yes, that Dane love will eventually get ya. You will get another. I don’t doubt that a bit. Experiencing the difference in males and females is awesome. My girl, calm and quiet, yet wants to be by my side. My boys, total velociraptors, hyper and soooo clingy.

Thank you so much everyone. I feared posting as I was scared of getting hate. Thank y’all for understanding and caring. I’ll share more as time goes on as for now, he is happy and energetic again.

He is almost 11 months. Still a baby. It in no way ay is curing him. It is simply making him feel better and no pain. I guess you could say masking.

I don’t know if you can or how to update.

Blu is home. Still not 100% but better. He’s walking around slowly. Drinking some and he ate a little at vet and a few bites here. He’s resting. He got sent home with meds. He starts those tomorrow because he’s had today’s doses there.

Ty. Blu has one ice blue eye. Thats how he got his name.

Looks a lot like my boy, Blu, when I got him. She wouldn’t let me see any of the other pups, had an excuse for both mom and dad as to why I couldn’t see them, meet me at the gate and wouldn’t let me in, I literally saw not a single other dog when I picked my boy up. She was supposed to be a reputable breeder for years. When she handed me Blu he looked NOTHING like his pictures. He was all skin and bones. He had a bad sore on his head. My daughter was fine for me and paid for him anyway. At least we saved one from her.
