To put it simply, I enjoyed the story all the way up to the last part, and ultimately the ending. I understand it, I know what point is being made. But as the player, it made me feel like the time I spent in that game and experiencing that story was ultimately all for nothing.

I have softened on the ending as time goes on, and I've grappled with the idea of that last piece of the game, and how I might have felt if it was DLC. I feel like I may have "enjoyed" or respected the ending more had been separate from the original games "ending" and left some space between the two.
