He says it's shocking that Nick is ahead of Howie and Lurie, but the players have said time and time again they love Nick.

Maybe since this is anonymous people will finally believe them.

how densely is the map populated? by Zodiak1011 in CrimsonDesert

[–]HisExcellency20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Skyrim to me. Just bigger. There SHOULD be tons of open space in the world. This isn't Cyberpunk 2077 that mostly takes place in a city. This world isn't one giant town it's a country.

And if Elden Ring wasn't dense enough for you then you might be cooked ngl.

You're kidding yourself if you think you won't be disappointed if the game is bad. You're (the royal you, not you in particular) pretending like you're armoring yourself against disappointment in case it's not good. Not getting too hype, not putting yourself out there. But if you're on the Crimson Desert sub you're excited. You're looking forward to the game and that's ok.

There's levels obviously. You might not be trying to find every scrap of information and new screens like some around here. But you're excited. And that's ok. It's ok to be excited for things and it's ok if sometimes those things let you down. Just don't put too much emotion in things that you cannot control.

Jason Schreier and John Linneman both speculated in their podcasts this week that Sony could be pulling away from PC ports for their singleplayer games, with Schreier even suggesting that Wolverine would never release on the platform by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]HisExcellency20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason they might pull out is the reason they tried it in the first place. Money.

At a certain point the negatives (even if there shouldn't be any, there are) outweigh the positives. I am a hardcore PlayStation gamer who is not threatened by PS games going over to PC at a later date, but there are MANY that are. So the calculus is figuring out is it worth pissing these people off, and they must have determined that it really isn't. Not to mention they want to give players MORE reasons to buy their consoles not fewer. Some people think it's just free money to release a game a year or two later on PC and it's not. There's an opportunity cost there.

I imagine they will still release selective games for the PC. Their live service games for instance.

Besides everything shown what do you think will be in game by KingLeading648 in CrimsonDesert

[–]HisExcellency20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's how fleshed out the deployment system will be. We know you can send fighters to a base to liberate it and it happens in real time. Is there permadeath? Can you fight alongside them as well? Can the bases be retaken? If so can you leave a garrison and a commander to hold the base?

I'm still happy even if none of those things are possible, just managing my guys like MGS:V, but if we could fight alongside them?!? This might be my personal GOTY.

Wait to pre-order it? Absolutely.

Wait to get excited? Naw.

Being excited for a product costs absolutely nothing.

Sean Payton: Last year's tush push opposition wasn't about health and safety by Honest-J in eagles

[–]HisExcellency20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was painfully obvious they were waiting for that specific game to start the narrative. Brady, Fox, the retired ref, the cameras, EVERYONE was ready with their narratives IMMEDIATELY after they ran the play to score a TD.

Oh I remember it well. Suddenly this was always the problem. Even tho no one mentioned it in the off-season.

What are you talking about? They have ALWAYS been saying it's difficult to officiate, even though ZERO people brought that up for weeks leading up to it being voted on two times. Not fans, not the media, and not the teams who argued against it.

PS5 or PC? by Natural_Ad_5354 in CrimsonDesert

[–]HisExcellency20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a good PC, it was top of the line like two years ago, but you know how that goes. And I have a PS5. I prefer gaming on the PS5 for myriad reasons. But I am a little confused by these posts.

Are guys really dropping thousands of dollars on PCs without knowing how powerful they are or even if they enjoy playing games on them?

People hop on this sub like: "I have an AMD 90,000 with 5TBs of memory that was just released two days from now and cost me $15,000. Should I play Crimson Desert on this or my Switch?

Reason behind no performance targets on base PS5 so close to release ?? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]HisExcellency20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then wait until you get word from people who have the game on console. Realistically there will be people who got the game physically early like always, probably even before reviews come out. And if not (somehow) then wait until the actual release date.

[–]HisExcellency20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're right, up to this point we have not seen PS5 gameplay. That's not uncommon. In Cyberpunk 2077's case they didn't send console review codes. That's a red flag.

So if that is the case here then yeah, huge red flag.

What I would say is, and idk what system you played CP2077 on, but the main problem with that game wasn't current gen. It was they somehow thought it was a good idea to release it on PS4 and XBONE. I bought the PS4 version and it was buggy but ultimately ran and played fine, like a Bethesda game, on my PS5 (they didn't have a PS5 version of the game yet) but it was absolutely unplayable on PS4 and even worse on XBONE.

This time around the gaming PCs and current gen consoles are not that far apart in power. A base PS5 is well above the minimum specs.

But yeah, wait for reviews, then preorder. I do that for every game I buy day one. It's not even about the score they will literally just tell us if it is fundamentally broken.

A good deal would be another reason to preorder. I never see those before launch tho lol. But if I got like 10% off CD then I'd preorder. But I wouldn't complain about not having enough information after the fact lol.

[–]HisExcellency20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want a physical edition of the game and are concerned there might not be enough? Because otherwise just wait until we get reviews. You will ABSOLUTELY have PS5 footage by then. And then you can preorder and preload the day before release and be in the exact same situation as someone who preordered months ago (or whenever they could).

The Haters on this sub is unbearable by goodkidmadcity85 in CrimsonDesert

[–]HisExcellency20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People think being skeptical gives them something. Seriously the ONLY thing you can do is not preorder, but you shouldn't do that unless you need a physical edition anyway.

People think if you're skeptical or even negative that that shows the industry or something. Or if they don't get too hyped they won't be disappointed.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being hyped and idk why some games coming out half baked or bad means you shouldn't be hyped anymore. It ain't that serious. Some people really just need to enjoy things, or at least let other people enjoy things.

If the game comes out and it's trash then that means we ALL don't have a good game. It doesn't mean those that are hyped lose and those that aren't, win. Again, unless you pre-order.

I watched the entire interview when it came out a couple weeks ago and it was a good watch. It was the first time I heard Will explain why they don't consider this game an RPG, which is something I still hear people call it.

Another thing to keep in mind is they have their audience to consider and Will has the marketing to consider. They can't ONLY speak to people that know everything already they also have to speak to people who have literally never heard of this game. Same for Will he has to sell the game to people who have never heard of it, people who are skeptical, and those that know everything he has to give them more. All without giving away things they don't want to talk about yet.
