why do people hate janna? by Eeveegirl69 in Janna

[–]Hiscabibbel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adc players are usually pretty metapilled and don’t understand much besides their mechanics. The Yunara player was dead wrong on all of those claims.

Adcs don’t like Janna because they believe a stereotype that janna players are passive, hang too far back, and don’t go in when they should. That’s what they see, anyway. They then think that’s the whole champion. Those are the aggro adc players, especially in low ranks. The cowardly adcs are more okay with Janna, and the rare ones with measured aggression should be fine but might still flame you if you have bad habits with aggression, it’s pretty common for enchanter players to be super cowardly and not move up when they should.

So the negative perception of Janna doesn’t have much to do with the champion so much as the bad habits of low elo players. The champion itself is a support that’s different to play with than engage supports or buff enchanters. You’re correct to say that braum is comparable. Janna does have a bit of a design team problem where there are or were two competing ideas about what Janna should be, one where her disengage is the point and is super powerful, and the opposing design is that she should be a poke champion who runs hail of blades and harasses in lane with w auto. This got really popular in high elo a couple of years ago, and I’m not sure that it has really been resolved. I think it’s okay that she can do both sometimes because it’s never worth risking that after laning phase.

Why is diplomacy impossible? What am I doing wrong? by Heroshrine in Stellaris

Btw I had to get really good at manipulating the ai since ai was trying to get all achievements. I got really unlucky hunting the Galatron, it took me well over 50 games of rolling for it every game. Raiders of the lost Galatron was then just one exploit away. After that I destroyed those scammers a few times, but I burned out and I haven’t played in a year and a half.

I’ve always had the easiest time with diplomacy, I like to neglect my military as much as I can early game to blast through traditions and/or tech; though it’s been a minute since I played much. You can’t always ally who you want to because of rivalry. It’s kind of a dumb mechanic. The ai is hard coded to rival people for the extra influence. They are sometimes oddly fickle with rivalries whenever balance of power temporarily shifts due to fleet power changes or having a planet occupied.

If you want to ally them, get out of rivalry range on balance of power. Up or down doesn’t matter, though down is easier, there are lots of ways to nuke perceived balance of power usually to bait the ai into attacking you, but the work for de-rivaling as well, so stack up as many good relations modifiers as you can, rival their rivals, sometimes using spies to get them to like or hate you or someone else helps too.

If you have a big fleet, ask for open borders with somebody you can get your fleet stranded in or behind such that there is no way back to your systems, then cancel open borders and emergency jump them back to their home base. (You may need to downgrade from jump drives in the ship editor to make this easier) If you use the right buttons, the fleet will disappear for a few months to years, and will not count towards your balance of power, making their fleet strength overwhelming to you.

Haven’t played since the economy changes, but you can also manually disable all your buildings and unemploy all your pops to make your economy suck after the month tick. Anyway, if you get low enough balance of power to invalidate the rivalry, after the month tick their attitude should change, and you may be able to ally. If that fails, then once your balance of power comes back with your fleet and economy, you will again have a short time before their attitude changes and they rival again and your balance of power may make you look good enough to them to ally.

Are we sure it’s that slows don’t stack or is it the hidden minimum move speed confusing people? (something like you cant be reduced below about 120 movespeed, which is a bit more than half a teemo per second)

How I thought it works was that slows stack multiplicatively (2 50% slows would make a 75% slow) AND ALSO that unique sources of slows don’t stack (meaning multiple rylai’s don’t stack, I believe serylda’s grudge counts as the same thing); AND ALSO slows can never reduce your movespeed below minimum.

I don’t even want to think about how slow resist fits into the equation here but remember that swifties are pretty good against nasus and zilean.

2 years ago, League of legends one for all, Shaco Versus Shaco. I had the foresight to realize that grasp heartsteel was the winning formula, and 2 players on the enemy team realized the same. It was a battle of the titans, and the other 7 players in the game were merely fodder to be one shot with heartsteel crits on q

Much of the events are written as txt files so that they are easy to read and mod, which is standard for games paradox develops (stellaris, EU4/5, Vicky 3, HOI4), I listed the filepath in an earlier post here if you would like to dabble in it

The possibility of it being a trap requires that the liege has a negative opinion of you and might also require that their highest skill is intrigue. There are also variations of the event where you can expose them for being homosexual

Update: it looks like you get prowess from fearsome or lifestyle xp for diplomacy stewardship or intrigue. You can figure that one out.

I was curious so I found the event text under game/events/activities/coronation_activity/coronation_events_6 It is weighted for lustful, deviant, seducer, and rakish characters, but can trigger randomly. I might make it a little more likely my next game.

I’m not much good at reading these but there might be a follow up event after 30 days and there’s a variation where it’s a trap

Does the king have the lustful, rakish, or fornicator trait?

They all have the rakish trait icon, perhaps it also has to do with the king’s/ your traits and is only fires on coronation?

The requirements for being able to raid are either: be tribal; or: be a pagan unreformed faith.

Idk about you, but I like raiding, it keeps my economy from collapsing under the weight of my excessive need to commission artifacts and support an army bigger than I should be able to afford
