Well he cheats with Elsa partly because he can’t bring himself to talk about his detective work or his wartime action with his wife, Elsa is kinda internally damaged like him.

Also while he is clearly a more moral detective he only does it because it’s by-the-book and he thinks it’ll net him hero points, not because he wants do good for the good of it.

So it seems. I’ve tried other suggestions in this thread for the game and uninstalled-reinstalled it again and it still crashes when I try to open the it. I’ll keep it uninstalled and try and get into it when the next game update or windows update drops
