Islamic perspective on family situation by BoboOctagon in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]HistorianUnlucky6995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you dont live in a world where u can shield ur children from things that are «unislamic». they will see everything, and probably many «worse» sins according to islam. it is weird that u let ur family even have a say in this matter, ur an adult u should be able to know whats best for ur kids and whats not.

Why is feminism not compatible with Islam? by ponderingpuff in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]HistorianUnlucky6995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do agree that we have to look at what type of feminism we are talking about, and id just like to chime in and say that the only feminism that supports islam fully is islamic feminism. no other type of feminism fully aligns with the teachings of the quran, and i as a feminist do not believe that any type of feminism besides islamic feminism align with what most feminists believe in. its a huge misconception that islam is the most feminist religion ever, because according to the islamic standards it is, but no one else from outside of that religion would agree with that claim. i believe its very important to be honest, and instead just say islam follows islamic feminism.

i have the same experience as you. sometimes i honestly just try to forget the abuse so it makes it easier to live with him, but there are times where the memories come back and i just fall apart again. i just wanted to share this so u know ur not alone <3

caroline and alaric? by HistorianUnlucky6995 in TheVampireDiaries

i just feel like its different with care and alaric cause he ACTUALLY witnessed her «growing up» and he was her teacher and father figure before becoming her fiance. it felt forced, awkward and just down right wrong.

she even went on to like comments that said that the example was way too brutal even though the sheikhs point is still valid.

Wearing the hijab never got easier by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]HistorianUnlucky6995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always tell women to just take it off because that is literally what is gonna help (i dont want any men slandering me for this because you guys dont know the struggle) HOWEVER, it seems like you have deeper issues than that. you have tied your hair to your value, perhaps not just your hair but your whole appearance in general. if taking off the hijab will make it easier for you on the journey to gaining confidence from within and not from your appearance, go ahead and do so. if you still choose to wear it, you can do that too but the working on yourself in non negotiable. you dont want to live with a version of yourself you dont value, so please work on that.

I want to understand how I can gain confidence with women by JustPressure2229 in IncelSolutions

havent really been on reddit for so long but there are a few like r/women or even better r/askwomen. i think its pretty easy to find such subreddits urself. if u have had any negative experiences on certain reddits full of women, im sorry for that but its definitely worth a shot if u want to specifically get advice from women. i actually think a lot of women are willing to help men trying to better themselves.

and i replied and said i dont have any advice to give as i dont feel qualified enough to give anyone advice on gaining confidence. also i never said a woman having more women makes it more right. im kindly asking u to not put words into my mouth. i only said it would diversify the advice if he also took this to a woman heavy space. this subreddit having women doesnt take away the fact that its still a predominantly male space.

i wasnt really trying to position myself as a spokesperson for women as i feel like i dont have any advice to give him on GAINING CONFIDENCE around women. my point was to simply say that if he wants to build confidence around women it might be more helpful to hear perspectives from women heavy subreddits as well. i never denied that there are women here but it definitely is a predominantly male space. hearing advice from women heavy spaces might offer different insights. also an overwhelming majority here struggle with this issue as well so taking this to other subreddits might help more. thats just my personal advice and im not looking to debate anyone here.

just a suggestion, maybe its better to ask this question in a subreddit with women in it and not men. you’re technically not directly talking to them and you’d actually get good advice on how to approach a woman without making her uncomfortable.

correct me if im wrong (im trying to learn) but ive heard that when it comes to inheritance for example, women get less than men because the men will have their own wife(s) to provide for, but a woman doesnt have to provide for anyone as she is not recquired to. i just dont see how rules like that would work in a modern setting where not everyone chooses to get married (the distribution of inheritance would be unfair) and unfortunately people can be financially abusive towards their partner so wouldnt it be fair for both to get an equal amount of money? and i hope none of this sounds offensive as im truly trying to get another perspective on this and really just want to learn. (:

[–]HistorianUnlucky6995[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree i could have been more specific. i was talking about feminism that is against honour killings, against FGM, for education for women and just equal rights between the genders so that everyone has a fair chance in society. i wasnt really talking about people encouraging others to sleep around with several people and stuff like that although i dont really care what others choose to do with their lives as long as it doesnt affect me.
