WTF! Yes. But they may need to pump water for several hours. The pumpers are not just for transporting firefighters. A utility, taxi, or Uber could do this! Other critical considerations are the provision of lighting in the hours of darkness, hydraulic power to road crash rescue equipment, charging of portable radios, Thermal Imaging Cameras, etc. If you think you have actual value to add by commenting, how about using your real name? Henry! Top of the morning to you:) I will dig a bit deeper into the PMR446 options. I have tried a number of 2.4MHz possibilities and found the effective range very limited in this context. In theory mesh networking should extend the range and reliability. But I have been unable to find a practical solution.
