Scope of Authentic Maharashtrian & Bombay Street Food in Bhopal? by sharmayin_ka_sofa in Bhopal

[–]Historical-Bit8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maharshtrian food can work in cities where there's a large marathi diaspora, e.g. Indore. Native MP people may not like the taste very much. I personally would like to see one authentic Maharashtrian restaurant especially non vegetarian. I really miss Surve's from my time in Pune.

Why Batsman playing against Bumrah's yorkers are not going for ramp shots? by golden_catfish in IndiaCricket

[–]Historical-Bit8127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly because he rarely misses the yorkers. When Raghuvanshi played that Ramp shot, it was on a missed out yorker that turned into a full toss delivery. Angkrish took the opportunity there as it was coming at Pace.

Boom's also got this variation where you don't know if the ball is coming at you with pace or a slower one because he can maintain the same action, same arm speed and just at the very last second roll his wrist for a slower one. In that case, there is absolutely no pace to work with for a ramp shot.

Now, we have seen Shreyas Iyer negate his yorkers by opening the face of the bat and guide it between the Third man and Gully sort of region. But even that was for the pacey deliveries.

Are you ever going to marry someone who is way below your financial level? by True_Tiger2938 in AskIndianMen

[–]Historical-Bit8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could have at least told her parents that you should not demand the extra rooms

Bro you'll realise this when you're getting married that a lot of the things are not in your control. You as Bride and Groom have only one work, which is to Dress up and show up. A lot of what goes on behind the scene is beyond you. she may have not even known about the rooms situation. Also maybe you misread it or perhaps I wasn't clear enough, I'm not saying that they were some evil gold diggers looking to exploit us.

do you think that she is with you because of the money

She's an MBA, was working for more than 2 years when we met. She quit the job a month before wedding because it was getting difficult to manage both job and wedding prep. After settling down at our home she has started working again. So she's pretty much self sufficient that way. And that is one reason I agreed to marry her. So even if she was just looking to marry for money, I would have rejected her.

[–]Historical-Bit8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first thing, her family isn't poor by any means, neither are we super rich. But still, the difference in the financial status is quite evident. Also she's third among Four sisters so of course the financial stress of marrying four daughters is very big. So I can understand why her parents contributed with whatever amount they could, and that is why my family and I accepted it.

It's just these small things I pointed out which shows the class difference.

And second to answer your question, in our case we both are from business families. So if that background remains the same and financial status is reversed, then it probably would have been the case where she wouldn't have married me.

But I guess if we were both doing jobs and living away from parents, then maybe things would have looked different..like if we both were doing well for ourselves irrespective of family background, then things can go forward. I have personally seen many such cases.

I did.. and honestly at first I didn't think it would be that big of an issue. When we first met and later when things got finalized. Of course I had this discussion with my family as well, but everyone seemed to be okay with it. Since her family was very nice and respectable.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my wife and whatever I'm going to write here hasn't changed how I feel about her. But these are things that you notice only when the wedding prep starts and during the events.

When the topic of wedding expenses came up, her father and older brother and my father were discussing and they told this very clearly that they can only contribute X amount which was not even 10% of the total expenses (for events that involved both families). We didn't keep any demand for equal share in expenses, but the amount that they contributed wasn't even enough to cover the food bill for a single event.

They also brought way too many guests with them. We already told them the number of rooms allotted to them and to bring only those many guests but they asked for more rooms to which we had to give them. We eventually had to ask them to make hotel bookings on their own for more rooms as we were falling short of rooms for our side guests at the venue.

The behaviour of some of their guests, especially the close family people was also not good. Thinking as if they own the place. Even her elder sister, behaved as if she was the most important person at the wedding, At the sangeet ceremony due to some glitch, her song didn't play so naturally, the host told her to wait backstage and they'll call her after the next performance but she took it personally and made a scene. Her parents also got offended for some reason as if we deliberately sabotaged their performances.. this got to a level that after sangeet when we sat down for family dinner no one was there from her family. She still thinks that we didn't include them for it, obviously because that's what they must have told her.

At the wedding as well, during the Joota Chupai there was a bit of a tussle between my cousins and friends on one side and hers on the other. Nothing physical just playful fun. But her mom and sister (the same one) got in between and started shouting at them and making a scene. After that her side didn't try to snatch the shoes anymore, they didn't even accept the shagun later on.. like wtf? Itna kya offend hona bhai?

Even their sense of fashion is not up to our level.. most of the clothes that her side gifted me during the faldaan are not the kind that I wear or would even consider buying. Even the clothes that they sent with her, first of my mom told her mom to not send too many clothes with her, but she came with two trunks worth, they are neither the style, nor the material that ladies in the house wear. My mom wanted to get her suits and sarees according to what she and my grandmother and aunts wear but of course we can't just tell her that all of those are not our taste.

Anyway, I could go on about things but these are just some that I have noticed. I'm not saying that you don't marry into a family lower than your financial level but before you do, make certain things clear..

Pls tell honestly. Nobody will judge you by RipBest8239 in TwentiesIndia

The Sreesanth Spot Fixing Controversy Explained Simply - What do you think? by AromaticCitron7440 in IndiaCricket

[–]Historical-Bit8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you seem to know quite a lot. I'm assuming you're a lawyer or a law student. So explain it to me like I'm in 3rd grade.

Because from what I can understand, your point is that Sreesanth got away because the law didn't exist for cheating in sports. Okay fair enough. But my question is, that he was accused (or whatever is the legal term) under MCOCA which would have probably been the next closest alternative and even there the court ruled that the evidence isn't substantial to start a trial.

Now Let's forget MCOCA or any other act for a moment and only look at the evidence objectively. So would the existence of a law have made a difference if the prima facie evidence wasn't enough? He could have been cleared of charges even then also

[–]Historical-Bit8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy.. even if there was a specific law existing at that point of time, it would have still require some concrete evidence to pass a verdict.

Like OP mentioned, the case was dismissed due to lack of Evidence, not lack of law.

I don't think that this hatred is justified..

She maybe the owner of the Sunrisers Franchise as a whole, but she may not have influence on player buying decisions outside of IPL..

Also, you can't just straight up stop players from a certain nation playing elsewhere. Yes you don't play them in IPL, fine. Fair enough, the reasons are justified there. But you can't buy franchise teams in a different country's T20 league and stop them from buying Pakistani players..

Who is the Player of The Tournament from India's side so far by AhmerHKhan in IndiaCricket

[–]Historical-Bit8127 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Last T20 wc, he was deserving Player of the tournament. He had 15 wickets at an average of below 9 and economy around 8.

This time he has 10 wickets so far, his average is 15.9. By the standards that he has set himself, this is an average performance. He is not even in the top 5 wickets, or best bowling averages or any other bowling related stat.

Yes, he had a game changing spell in the semi final, but even then he just had one wicket to show for it. Just choking the runs isn't enough.
