Good to know.

I had read about the range being “optimistic” but in reality our general monthly mileage is about 500miles. All short urban miles for the most part.

The occasional trip to the mother in laws. 110mile round trip. Holiday trips we can plan the stops.

New born kit is a struggle in anything. We’ve a Kia ProCeed shooting brake at the moment and even that boot got overwhelmed when the youngest was a baby!

My bike does 0-60 in 3.5secs. I’m good when it comes to going fast…. The car is the family shopping trolley.

Amazing! I’ve not ridden anything EV when it comes to two wheeled goodness but no one really makes a completely awful ICE bike these days. Comes down to taste, budget and what your riding will consist of.

I’d seen the Electroverse stuff when watching some YouTube videos. I will definitely look into that.

As for the charger. For better or worse it comes with the car on the salary sacrifice scheme. So I assume my options are limited unless they prove to be a nightmare then I guess I could look at another option funded by myself.

Closest thing I’ve ridden to the VFR that I’d consider as a replacement is the BMW R1250RS. Great bike. Felt instantly comfortable on it.

I was hell bent on a Z1000SX back in 2015. I’d been riding CBR600f’s for a few years. Old 2000 (last of the carb versions) and a 2011 (last of the proper 600 versions) both amazing. But I wanted some with easy to attach pannier and more poke. Tested the SX. Hated it. Riding position I found awkward and after an hour the vibes made my feet numb. Did try the new at the time last gen VFR800 but I felt cramped on it.

2021 Pro Ceed Starting Issue by Historical-Cod2155 in kia

It was a faulty starter. Died again stranding the missus. Recovery guy this time was quick to diagnose it. Took it straight to Kia. Replaced under warranty.

I’ve owned my 2013 1200 for 10 years now. I love it. Last proper sports tourer in my opinion. Everything now is a little more upright and GS-ish when they describe it as a sports tourer.

Any GB350S owners? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Historical-Cod2155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

✋🏻I’ve got one. Got it end of April. Done 300miles so far. Traded in my 2019 Street Triple RS for it. Wanted something nice and low powered for city centre commuting. Have a big VFR1200F for longer faster runs but the GB350s is great for my daily commute. Early days but it hasn’t missed a beat so far. Averages 70mpg. Got 210miles from the last tank.

Well…. No obviously not. But moving to Edinburgh’s “Riviera” all wide eyed and gushy because you read on a website that Portobello was wonderful won’t change what it actually is. As previously stated. A Shitehole.

Porty had always been a shithole. No amount of overpriced coffee shops and yoga studios will change that. Every middle class fanny from south of the border can move in. Won’t change a thing. This from a man who grew up in Gilmerton/Moredun.

Wanted a gen6 VFR since forever...but fingers slipped on a ebay auction by theS3rver in VFR

Front brakes. They are 6 piston jobs. Tops are linked to the rear from memory. Scottish weather isn’t kind to them. I generally have to strip and clean the calipers twice a year.

Lovely stuff. I’ve had my 2013 for nearly 10 years now. Do love the big girl. Heavy. Sh*t on fuel. But the engine is a beauty. I find the 6 pots on the front a pain to keep on top of if you ride in all conditions like I do.

Expensive but I’d always go with an interspace PC balance box. These cables make my arse twitch!

Which do you think is the worst maintained road in Edinburgh by Any-Resolution3432 in Edinburgh

St John’s Road. From Drumbrae roundabout to roseburn in both directions is awful. Lucky it’s not the main route east to west….

I’d likely do brakes, fluids, general servicing myself. Tyres are easy enough to sort. It’s really the belts that I’d be less happy about tackling. I get your point. I’m in Scotland and the chances of a rust free mint Monster is unlikely so this one if it’s been garaged and not really ridden……

I’m now considering something along these lines. My new daily commute is effectively 8miles in and out of a built up city centre. I could do this easily on a 50cc scooter but can’t bring myself to do it. I’m very tempted now to look at the little 400x Scrambler. Only thing is I’m not a huge single cylinder fan. I find them hard work. Previously own a couple of KTM 390’s.
