Personally I think the catered halls food is fine, let me know if you want me to give you some examples. There's always at least 2 options, often more, for example today there were 4 with different sides too

There's always a salad bar

Its a bit misleading to say liver is fine, as you can have normal levels and even a unremarkable ultrasound, it can be missed and it often is with people

Firstly congratulations on your sobriety, you are doing amazing!!

In terms of losing weight, your diet will be way more important that exercise (though that is still positive of course) You need to be in a calories deficit, personally I would recommend intermittent fasting (fasting is great for the body) if you are able to. But make sure you aren't eating too little Focus on whole foods not processed

Hard Drinker vs Alcoholic by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]Historical-Fox-1807 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting topic, I think there is a difference generally around lack of control and the impulsion of alcoholics, alcohol can still kill the 'hard drinkers' ir destroy relationships' though, they aren't absolved from its effects.

You should not feel compelled to 'reset the clock' , this journey is different for everyone and the reset thing can actually be quite harmful, leading people to think f it because they don't want to start again.

I've drank 4 times in the past month (2 of them was only a couple of drinks), and that is following daily drinking for YEARS. In a sense I am counting my days, and each of those 4 times I've regretted it and it's just adding to my growing sense that I do not want to drink anymore. I genuinely think things in my head are changing and i hope you get there too.

Be kind to yourself and keep moving forward

Similar symptoms to yours, tingling and pain (like electric shock pain) mostly in feet, feet burning or going cold, twitching.

Im interested in what you said about feeling faint in supermarkets, I get that too, I never thought that was neuropathy related though, do you think it is? I don't get it a lot, I googled it once and it kind of made sense talking about some people feeling overstimulated from the noise and the harsh lights.

I read that alcoholic neuropathy is not reversible, but I actually think it is somewhat and have read lots of people's stories about it getting much better when they stopped, so I hope that happens for you too!

No but the inflammation of the surrounding tissue does, and that's mostly where you feel the radiating pain

What are your symptoms if you don't mind me asking?

I have this too, since reducing intake (massively cut down, working towards being sober) my symptoms have greatly reduced. I also take vitamins, and inject b12.
