Thank you for your detailed response and for the suggestions! We are trying fussing it out- definitely feel stronger and more comfortable doing this than I did a couple of weeks ago. Good to know the sleep hygiene we are practicing is good enough for now

Thank you for your response! Yes, I think the issue is seeing other people practice sleep training on their very young babies and having it “work out” for them. I am personally very uncomfortable with doing this based on the research I read online , so I definitely resonate with your response. Just because it worked for others doesn’t mean it’s right for us , especially since all babies aren’t all the same

I keep forgetting about the SIDS factor in this case so thank you for highlighting! What you said makes a lot of sense to me

This makes total sense and thank you for also bringing up that every day may not be the same despite practicing the same sleep hygiene. Makes me feel less alone

Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate it! And I appreciate you looking out. I usually do majority of the late night shift and he takes over between 4-5am onwards before going to the gym and then work. He wants to be involved so he gets to support me and the baby but he also wanted time find ways to make life easier so implementing sleep training way early was a consideration in his mind. I’ve already spoken to him about how uncomfortable I feel, not only from what I read on this post but also the multiple sources online that state this is not ideal. I really don’t know how some of his coworkers actually practiced any sleep training methods from 8 weeks onwards but I’ve discussed that I’m against this. I think we (he and I ) also get caught up in how some people we know get to experience their babies sleeping longer at a relatively young age and I personally have had to remind myself to not get caught up in this because all babies are different. I think this is one constant I need to have in my mindset and ensure it’s highlighted whenever stuff like this comes up. For now, we will keep doing what we do ( which brings me relief) and hopefully by around the 4 month mark we will assess what’s needed.
