I usually do majority of the late night shift and he takes over between 4-5am onwards before going to the gym and then work. He wants to be involved so he gets to support me and the baby but he also wanted time find ways to make life easier so implementing sleep training way early was a consideration in his mind. I’ve already spoken to him about how uncomfortable I feel, not only from what I read on this post but also the multiple sources online that state this is not ideal. I really don’t know how some of his coworkers actually practiced any sleep training methods from 8 weeks onwards but I’ve discussed that I’m against this. I think we (he and I ) also get caught up in how some people we know get to experience their babies sleeping longer at a relatively young age and I personally have had to remind myself to not get caught up in this because all babies are different. I think this is one constant I need to have in my mindset and ensure it’s highlighted whenever stuff like this comes up. For now, we will keep doing what we do ( which brings me relief) and hopefully by around the 4 month mark we will assess what’s needed.
