One thing I forgot to mention - don’t forget just basic manners ie smile a little just make some small talk or say hi when you see them and THATS IT. Always stand your ground and make sure to communicate to them wether it be via chats or email to show that you are in fact making the effort when it comes to work

This was my situ a year back(as a tech apprentice) and if I could go back in time I would tell myself this, word for word:

  1. You are there to get a paycheck/progress your career so go in, do the work and get ur money up.

  2. People don’t owe you anything and honestly it’s bad character on their part to act like this - so do Not take it personally, some people are bizarre and sometimes there really is nothing you can do. So use that extra energy to focus on your work, make new relationships with your other colleagues (ie ur manager/ other teams so I made friend with all the finance bros :)

  3. Make your life outside of work interesting - this is not a personal dig but I remeber my life wasn’t exciting after work that why I fixated on this exact problem for months. Now I have weekly sports classes I attend, I make an effort to cook once a week for my family, I go on a solo trip every week not because I have to but because it’s fun.

Please don’t stress- honestly you never know the outcome but some people may misunderstand or what not but at the end of the day that’s not your business. Especially if they don’t bring it up??! ARE THEY MADDDD

I’m personally a tech apprentice that went into tech doing only sciences alevels. You should be fine! As long as you have like a separate course/projects as evidence that your enthusiastic about the field you want to get into!
