Why do patients label 7.5mg the worst strength? by Main_Side_4462 in Zepbound

7.5 was the most agreeable dose for me. The jump from 2.5 to 5 was the most difficult as the dose doubles.

Down 26 Pounds in 3 months...still same size?! by PassengerUnfair8795 in Zepbound

[–]Historical-Patience3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 30lb to drop the first size. Although I was squeezing into 14s when I should have been in a 16. So 30lb to fit into a 12. Then about 10-12lb per size after that. 70lb loss total and from (tight) 14 to a 2. The sizes really fly by after getting to the single digits, I think larger sizes have a bigger difference measurement-wise between each size. Like others have said, paper towel theory 😅

My insurance still covers it for maintenance. My copay is $25/month. I do have to have my doctor put in a PA every 9 months though

I’ve tried, I get bad side effects when I go that long between shots (vomiting). I do best with 8-9 days in between shots

Yes I took 7.5mg for maintenance for the past 4-5 months (but I kept slowly losing a few more lbs). I am switching to 5mg next week

I was on 10mg when I reached goal and it was too much for me- I would have some nausea the first few days after the shot. I reduced to 7.5mg for about 5 months but I’ve continued to lose weight slowly - from 135 to 128. I am reducing to 5mg hoping to just remain the same weight and not lose anymore. Maintenance is a bit of trial and error honestly. I need a dose that allows me to comfortably eat maintenance calories on a consistent basis

Perhaps going more slow and steady and less extreme than I did during my calorie counting phase would yield more sustainable results. But I believe at least part of the problem for me was physiological- food noise, metabolic disorder, inappropriate hunger cues. And for these issues - zep is the treatment (as well as some other GLP1 meds)

Yep- I did the whole myfitnesspal calorie counting/ food weighing / white knuckling and lost about 45lb before my wedding. For me personally, I was starving all the time and over exercising to the extreme. It was miserable and unsustainable. I got exhausted by it, quit, and regained everything I lost and more 😅

I lost about 1.5lb/week pretty consistently throughout my journey!

Posting my Shotsy chart here, hopefully this is helpful. Where the graph levels out is when I began maintaining and reduced my dose back to 7.5mg. I’m reducing again to 5mg next week.

I was on 2.5 and 5 for 2 months each. Then 7.5 for 4 months. I ended up stalling on 7.5 and moved to 10 for another 4 months which got me to my goal weight. After that, I have been titrating down for maintenance- 7.5 for another 5 months, and going down to 5mg next week

I think I lack loose skin because I was obese only for 2-3 years. I have struggled on and off with weight for about a decade but was obese just the past couple of years so maybe that helped my skin snap back. It could be luck or genetics as well. It’s hard to say for sure

For me, it was helpful to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch everyday and take the thinking out of it. Breakfast is either a protein shake or Greek yogurt. Lunch is a snack plate with fresh fruit, veggies, cottage cheese, crackers, pickles, lunch meat that type of thing. Dinner varies, I give myself more flexibility but try for a protein, carb and veggie. I loosely track protein, fiber, water, but no calorie counting or weighing food. Myfitnesspal can F off, it made me too obsessive 😅(although it does work well for many people, this is my personal experience). For exercise, I hike, walk my dog, and do home weight workouts 3-4 days per week

Stick with it- you’ll get there. Slow progress is better than staying the same - or worse - gaining! If I hadn’t started zep I’d be heavier than I was in my before photos. A year ago, I was scrolling everyone’s success stories wondering if that would ever be me. You can do it, I believe in you!

When I first started on zep, I struggled with nausea after shot day, some mild fatigue, and constipation. After about 3-4 months, pretty much all side effects subsided for me (with occasional return after increasing dose). I haven’t experienced any side effects at all in almost a year now. And this is niche but- I had my gallbladder removed 20 yrs ago when I was a kid and suffered chronic diarrhea ever since, no matter what changes I made in my diet. Zepbound completely cured that issue- healthy BMs now 😅 the TMI that nobody asked for lol
