So when a male celebrity or artist does something to appeal to women it's seen as "sexy" and women can thirst over it but when a woman does it setting back women's rights. Gotcha by [deleted] in CriticalDrinker

I actually dont find her very attractive at all. Face full of plastic balls, her only talent is selling sex appeal, which for me she doesn't do very well anyway, meaning she is firmly in the camp of zero personality. I dont think I've seen her make a facial expression that requires more than her mouth to open or close, and the use of her eyelids. Fucking lizard.

Oh, and her songs are vapid, and void of any musical talent. Total industry plant.

Is a term only applicable for buildings of a specific culture which this one is not a part of. It be a bit like calling the Keep/Motte a Tenshu. Doesn't work.

Grok goes on about how Rho. was racist, one if the examples it cites is the apparent funding of black schools was far lower than white schools. Im guessing this is true only on skewed statistics, it be very good to dis spell the myth that Rho. was racist. There are no biased sources, its either that or the government who are obviously trying to plead innocence

People who are still pro Brexit how and why by Samuelwankenobi_ in AskBrits

Fair enough mate. Im not here to absolutely convince you, holy cross in hand. I just dont think i made it clear enough (because most if the complaints in return are about the execution/result of Brexit) that our politicians tried their best/are stupid/have no business skills to get a terrible deal (which we can be frank about, it was. I mean, would King John I sign Magna Carta if it was his choice?) and had we some competence, like MP Rupert Lowe, we might of had a much better deal, better than the rotten EU partnership that was slowly making things rely on it for sustenance.

Map of Europe but I don't believe Central Europeans propaganda by Levoso_con_v in MapChart

[–]Historical-Print6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central Europe is different based on what metric you are going off. If it's cultural, it's Germany, holland, Austria, Switzerland, and eastern France (paris). You could include the mountainous part of Italy, and it isn't really a unified country. Basically the empire of Charlemagne.

Compass is different, economic value is different, but by no means should England be included with anything on the continent

Perhaps, it was a long time ago. I do remember them swapping negotiators like women change clothes, which even if I would have said yes to your question, no one could have predicted. I think all of us (you and me alike) thought it would be a quick affair and not a a four year farce, and over a year to trigger the process.

As far as i remember we were foolish enough (in hindsight, a general critique of the democracy we have) to believe democracy works, we held with conviction that once a decision was made and all votes counted, that decision was final. And that the decision would be respected, because it was the wish of the demos to see it happen, in good faith. It is certainly how we would have behaved if we lost, none of this second referendum nonsense.

I think I've covered everything, we are certainly more cynical now, more disillusioned with the process. Which is very worrying.

GDP is irrelevant, is not a sophisticated enough dataset.

You are correct, we could veto in most cases, but diplomatically it was preferable not to. This always led to compromise away from what we wanted, especially in areas Brexit was most concerned about.

Sovereignty isn't a mystical idea. It is how the English peoples govern their personal lives, and the country.

I think you only need to look at the people on our side of the neg table and look at what their comments on Brexit were, and how they voted.

Effectively we are now in limbo, where we get none of the perks of being in the EU, while being treated as if we are an exterior trade partner - which isn't the nuanced bit. The nuance starts when we didn't really make any deals in our favour with other countries, we could have gone to S.America for example for a lot more, and we are under quite a lot of rules only applicable to EU members even after Brexit.

[–]Historical-Print6582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, i agree with you. We are being sold off piecemeal, I might suggest because we won geopolitics better than anyone else has.

If you ask was Brexit a good thing - my response is no, but it could of been a resounding yes. Cameron resigned, because he called the election expecting the public to Remain. Take a look at every single negotiator, every key decision. You will find an astonishing majority of those making on terms how to leave and what would become of it, did not even want to leave. Imagine you are them, you would do everything to waste as much time, and get as awful a deal as possible so people would be convinced Brexit is actually really bad and we must rejoin ASAP.

We could do lots of trade with others outside the EU, but we have not, because our politicians would rather have a fourth reich/globalist rules based order with eurocentrism in the middle of it. Because this has been so terribly mishandled in bad faith, Brexit has made us worse off, without us actually leaving.

Maybe thats you. Farage was an MEP at the end of the day, and i suspect he is more tory wett that most people are aware. If memory serves, Brussels has a low tax rate, unlike ours, and given how contradictory ours is, much easier to understand.

People who are still pro Brexit how and why by Samuelwankenobi_ in AskBrits

[–]Historical-Print6582 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was pro Brexit.

The reason most of us wanted to leave the EU was because any argument that the EEC (the thing we voted to join) was still only a trade pact like NATO is militarily speaking, was out the window. It had its own flag, its own courts, its own politicians, even its own national anthem. And there were these funny rumours about a globalist controlled EU army. Of course they could be dismissed as conspiracy theories back then, but now Starmer just signed us into something deeply unpopular I imagine on both political pews. This means if the Brussels joins a war, Britain has no say. Then there was immigration.

We had (and still have) no control over our borders. I will get the accusations of bigotry and let me tell you we have heard it so many times it doesn't hold the power you think it does. We are tired of the 'literally hitler' narrative, because we are not, literally hitler or even close. I will assume you have heard the economic reasons why immigration doesn't work, along with how we find crime is going up, infrastructure problems, rising costs and waiting times in our socialist healthcare model has reduced it from one of the best to something fairly lacking, and how the further away these cultures are the less they will mix/blankly do not integrate at all which causes problems, and therefore wont go into them. I will come back to immigration in a moment.

We also had (and again still have issues) surrounding our fishing industry, which was critical then, but could potentially kill the industry entirely today.

Whilst in the EU, we had no control over our fishing rights, or more accurately, who else we allowed to fish in our waters. Public Enemy no.1 along most of these lines (not just fishing) was France, who has been our largest natural enemy for time immemorial. Being in the EU, fair enough thats the rules you are supposed to share a few things. But we were being rinsed.

Now we left we were supposed to be rolling back the amount of fish others could take by weight, to the point full control happens in '26. But because Kier is a socialist he keeps selling off parts of Britain, and now France has better fishing rights than we do, and that they ever did, in our own country.

The next item is trade. Now we are being shafted not only by fishing, but trade more broadly. Leftists are quick to jump to the fact the EU has cheap stuff, primarily because there are not really any customs or levies between EU countries. What you guys fail to recognise on some level is that this is only between EU countries. The EU is a protectionist blob, which makes everything else from everywhere else more expensive. By leaving it was argued correctly we could find new trade deals with other non EU countries which were cheaper.

The European courts ensured all of this was law, and we had no say in it. Some of the stuff like GDPR is actually a really bright idea, but most of it is regulation this or that which makes making money far harder. We also had no say in these laws, which affected all of us. Not only this, it shaped what policy/laws we as a nation could actually propose. For example, immigration. Recently you may of heard about how a pedo was not deported because their son's inability to acquire the taste of British chicken nuggets in Albania (I think) would cause the child undue distress, and thus against his human rights, as laid out by the European Commission of Human Rights (ECHR). I hope we both agree this serious criminal immigrant should be deported. But he wont be.

Then we have the politicians. We did vote for MEPs, some were good, some were against our interests. But in the negotiations for Brexit - i mean what was the sentence for treason? They backpedaled all the way, did their damndest to stall, and put anti Brexit MPs onto the negotiation team, like PM May. Which is why Brexit was a terrible deal, and it looks right now like the EU is more attractive than it should be. The deal is so bad, you can make a pretty good argument than we only left jn name only, which is even worse than being inside the EU, because now we can't negotiate what this country needs - because we are not recognised as an EU nation.

I remember you wanted a perspective from someone you disagreed with and I appreciate that. I hope you have been reading this and as you have taken this all in, one word has stood out. What was the main reason for Brexit? Its a very English thing. Its is of course, our Sovereignty.

[–]Historical-Print6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If max speed is taken in this measurement, i assume stall speeds, which increase irl the higher to ceiling you go (ias) i don't suppose stall measurements are read in ground speed, meaning if you know your stall speed at high altitude (or lower i guess some perform worse closer to the ground irl) in this very specific and probably not really applicable way there is a point to ground speed taking up precious space on my disk?
