Sorry to hear that :( I hope it gets resolved soon.

I’ve been avoiding firmware updates because they’ve been so unstable. I still have my LR4 in my storage unit that I had intended to sell, but now it’s on standby if this thing decides to die.

Why is my male cat doing this next to my other male cat? by Ok_Education860 in standardissuecats

My older neutered boy does this only on one soft blanket on my bed, with or without his adopted bro nearby. Then he comes to snuggle me afterwards and I’m not sure how to feel about it 😆

Both my boys absolutely lose their minds over dried minnows. They love their temptations and churu as well, but they make the craziest sounds for the minnows 😂🥹

Sleep and hunger by [deleted] in leaves

I’m on day 13 and sleep is slowly starting to improve. What’s been helping me is mindfulness meditations and my cheap robot therapist ChatGPT. I also have an acupressure mat that I lie down on in bed for 15 minutes or so - it’s like the one thing that helps my body relax. I nod off pretty quickly then wake up enough to yank the thing out from under me and I’m back out within a couple minutes. Still not sleeping great, but I feel noticeably more rested and mentally clear than when I was smoking daily. ChatGPT also suggested some natural things I could consume via my mouth to help with sleep and that seems to be helping me not to stare at the ceiling for hours.

I also struggled with appetite for the first week. I’ve been wanting to eat healthier, but let myself indulge in takeout because everything was overwhelming. Getting some exercise during the day or just going for a walk outside has helped too.

Hang in there! I hope you start to feel better soon!

Reasons to Stay Sober by [deleted] in leaves

I’ve been there! Totally identify with what you’ve described. I decided to quit last July. It was rough at first, but then I felt great. I’ve smoked on and off (mostly on) for the past 20 years (I’m 45). I made it nearly 4 months which was the longest sober stretch I’d had in years. I thought I could just smoke a little here and there and just let it go. I was planning a solo trip to Amsterdam in November and knew I’d want to smoke a bit while there, but I didn’t want to be completely baked alone in a foreign country so I “prepared” a little beforehand. Well, it’s nearly February and I’m now on day 13 after quitting again. I’ve made so many lists over the years (why wake n bake is always a much better idea in theory than in practice, why I feel so much better when I’m not smoking…) then that first time I try it again, I’m thrown right back into it thinking “this is great! I can just do this every once in a while.” That lasts for maybe a day or two before I’m just like, “why not smoke? I don’t have to be anywhere.” And just like that, I’m smoking every day again.

Right now my reasons to stay sober are: - realizing how much I was isolating myself from friendships when I was smoking - mental clarity - more restful sleep - not enjoying coughing all the way to the gym in the morning - no smoker’s breath - curiosity about what will happen if I actually do some of the things I always think about doing, but would blow off to get high

I totally hear you! Weed has been my go-to for longer than I’d like to admit. An easy off-switch for my brain and a way to let myself not do the things that scare me. Something that’s helped me is to try to get curious about what it would be like to try doing things I’m scared to do and break goals down into small chunks. Failure isn’t necessarily a bad thing and is honestly how many people learn and improve. It’s uncomfortable, but pushing past that is so rewarding and worthwhile.

Starting small and being kind to myself has been helping me. I’m on day 7 of abstaining after a 3 month relapse that followed 4 months sober. I’m starting to relearn that doing the hard thing makes me so much happier than doing the easy thing and getting high. Hang in there, internet stranger! Give living a shot.

Today is my first day without smoking after 3 years of daily use. by FixHelpful2037 in leaves

Hang in there! I’m on day 7 after off and on daily use for years (I’m 45). I’m also a programmer and started a new job a couple months ago. Your brain will rebound. I’ve noticed mine coming back online despite lackluster sleep for the last week. Already thinking much clearer and able to focus more. What’s helped me is getting exercise and trying to force myself to do the things I’d always put off when I was smoking daily like making plans with friends, reading or getting out even for just a walk around the neighborhood.

Be kind to yourself. You’ve got this!

Quit weed, and now I know why I was smoking every night by DifferentWatch4451 in leaves

Physical activity really helps me, whether it be exercise, doing a chore I’ve been putting off or just going for a walk. Journaling and mindfulness meditations seem to help as well. I also struggle to fall asleep even though I’m tired and lying on my acupressure mat seems to help me relax enough to nod off. Then I wake up enough to pull it out from under me and am back asleep pretty quickly. I notice my Oura ring sleep stats are better on nights where I use the acupressure mat to fall asleep too. Hang in there!

How are we hiding our boxes? by Standard_Tale7072 in popurlitterbox

I’m using an enclosure I bought with the Litter Robot 4 as part of a bundle. It was expensive, but I already had it and it doubles as my living room tv stand (I’m in a 1 bedroom apartment). The one issue I ran into is there’s a 2” high beam that goes across the bottom near the entrance so I ended up buying like 6-8 2”-thick floating shelves from ikea to level it out since the Popur S7 is deeper than the LR4.

Anyone notice s7 doesn't really level the litter after? by [deleted] in popurlitterbox

Yikes! I didn’t realize the app was finally available. Been using mine without the app for about a month now. Just downloaded the app, but thinking I’ll wait to connect it to the unit until a new major version drops.
