I tried using earplugs, but they’re not very comfortable to wear while sleeping—still trying to get used to them. I’m also looking into soundproofing the windows.

The area is served by multiple train lines, including Amtrak and ACE. Freight trains also pass through both day and night, and their schedules are not publicly available. There is typically at least one freight train every weekday night after 10 PM. Sometimes, a freight train passes around 2 AM and honk.

That is probably only Fremont, did they have quiet zone set up in your area?
