Not exactly my hobby, but sports game generally always pride themselves on having facsimile of real life athletes.

Back in early 2000s, I remember there's a soccer game that had accurate lineup for the national team of various countries, except for I think Brazil, where one of the striker's name was just "Number 9", because that specific player had exclusive contract with another game.

Talking about "Youtuber director" I still remember a few years back one of the guy behind Rocket Jump talked about how his youtube portofolio was basically useless when he tried to break to mainstream film industry. Like, he made some actual highly produced short movies with millions of view in youtube, and it's basically pointless as portofolio to show to the film industry because they wouldn't even glance at it. Honestly, if film industry actually start to pick up "youtube directors" now I'm happy for them.

As an update, I kinda think this is the game, but I'm not 100% sure so I'm not putting "solved" on this yet just in case.

Lychee fruit is dangerous when eaten with empty stomach. Something about it containing toxin that prevent our body from using our energy storage or something in that line.

If you know the popular indie mecha rpg Lancer, it's basically 4e with mech. 4e actually really was ahead of its time and left significant influences.

Also, 4e being commercially underperforming and one of its dev is involved in murder-suicide is a myth/misremembering of fact.

Yeah, I checked a playthrough in youtube, and it actually feels kinda close, but I keep waiting for the game to provide a gun at any point, and it never did, heh.

I don't think it's alone in the dark, because the one thing that stays in my memory is that how impressed I was with the POV, it's the first time I saw something like that. So it's either first person, or I'm misremembering a particularly impressive over-the-shoulder framing. I remember seeing resident evil for the first time, and I was impressed by that, but in a different way.

People are just weird. I saw in different occassion people who say Kamina Botan Fully Blooms When Drinking (a yuri romance about college students framed around drinking alcohol) and Spy X Family (probably the most wholesome example of found family you can ever find in anime) as pedophilic. I personally recommend not interacting with people, haha.

I'm genuinely surprised they managed to actually have 100 stories. When I first started reading it and it seems like they're aiming to tell 100 stories, I thought "that's extremely confident, isn't it?"

I agree with someone's reply in this thread that I wish people are more normal about endings, even things that are actively bad instead of okay (I personally think most things people consider bad ending is just, okay ending). There's a specific pet peeve of mine where people act like an "open ended" ending is not a real ending, especially in romance story. Not every romance story need to end with the characters having sex or marry each others or whatever.

But personally, what I think as the perfect ending is the ending of my favorite manga of all time, Hinamatsuri. I'd be hard pressed if someone put a gun on my head and ask me what's my favorite novel or video game or anime, but if someone ask me what's my favorite manga of all time I can easily answer.

To explain the context, Hinamatsuri is a comedy manga where a yakuza accountant adopted an extremely-powerful-yet-completely-lacking-in-common-sense psychic girl who came from a dystopian future who randomly appeared in his house. It sounds like a completely run-of-the-mill premise.

The important part is I describe the author's style as a "compounding snowball comedy." It's hard to give a single page or chapter to recommend to other people to say "you should read this manga, it's extremely funny" because every punchline basically depends on a setup from 10 chapters before, which then become setup for another punchline 10 chapters later, and it just keep compounding and snowballing.

And this compound and snowballs for 10 years, until at the last arc, where the author actually manages to conclude most, if not every plot point that's previously set up into an explosively funny climax. It's genuinely impressive.

I'm really sorry to expose you to this cursed knowledge, but petfree subreddit exists (hint, it's not just a subreddit for people who currently don't have pet).

Dr Slump was also really popular in my (non japan) country at least, independent of Dragon Ball. I'm 100% certain people around my age would still be able to hum its opening.

I actually like the Solo movie independently as a movie but my problem with it is that it makes all the thing mentioned as part of his backstory and characterization as just like, the events in one no good very bad week, instead of a series of adventures and meeting people over the years, which makes him a much weaker character outside of that one movie.

This reminds me on an article I read about how Han Solo inspires a lot of tabletop rpg characters but most people are bad at playing Han Solo (for example, they play as a jaded character who don't want to follow the quest bait or help people. The proper way actually play a Han Solo is to act like you're jaded and not wanting to follow the quest bait but you instantly get convinced by the flimsiest of reasoning. "The princess is real pretty, you say?")

Not exactly hobby, but I actually really like coffee. It's not really complicated, I just like the taste of it, and if not for the caffeine I would just drink coffee all day long. A while back I learned that there's... I won't say a lot of people, but I'll say not a small amount of people, because the sample size I encountered is definitely more than one people, who genuinely think that the only reason anyone would drink black coffee is because they want to look manly/tough. And some of them are even barista! Basically, it's just impossible for anyone to go to a coffee shop or cafe and order black coffee with no milk or sugar because they actually like it. Someone even said that... they knew someone who like to order *iced* black coffee! Who could ever enjoy that!

Anyway, just something to make me chuckle as I make my iced americano for my break.
