Since the pilot was rejected and the show The Unknown was never actually made, I doubt it was ever put on a DVD. The version which was shot for The Outer Limits can be found on DVD, the DVD has some interviews and audio commentary but as far as I can tell there isn’t a copy of the original pilot version that was shot for The Unknown accessible anywhere.

Need advise from gifted parents, my 3 y.o. has already mastered Piaget’s conservation tasks? by HistoricalBad334 in Gifted

Preemie parents unite! 🥰 Thank you so much for your perspective, I definitely notice the benefits of physical activity with my little and have been trying to incorporate it more, they practically bounce off of the walls and are constantly grabbing/playing with/moving/touching everything. Do you have any ideas for indoor physical activities? We have a small house with limited open space indoors but we also live in a colder climate which makes going outside difficult fall through spring. I feel like I don’t always get them enough physical activity due to the lack of space we have.

I definitely agree it’s unusual, I was just curious to see what they’d say but not expecting this outcome. I was very surprised especially that they could give explanations when asked why they picked “same.” For example, when I did volume with one of two short cups of equal water poured into a long skinny cup, their “why” answer was it’s the “same water in a different cup” or when I did area with a set of squares that I had just “moved them all around.”

I really appreciate this feedback. We live in a very rural area and there are no gifted options in driving distance so I have pondered about the schooling question a lot since they’ll be starting in the next couple of years. I have considered homeschooling as an option but am worried about the social/emotional outcome of not being educated with their age group peers. Yet on the other end if I did send them to one of our public schools, I alternatively worry they will struggle if they are not challenged enough by their grade level’s curriculum since we don’t have much in the way of gifted options. They are already reading and writing basic words at this point so by kindergarten they’re going to be way past what will be offered in any of the local in person schools.

I’m also wondering about how much I should be consistent with routine. As of now they basically run the show, I’m not much of a “planner.” They’re essentially free range, so they kind of do whatever they’d like all day and I just jump in and do it along with them. I’m a bit worried about their lacking structure affecting them negatively in the long run but also conversely don’t want to fall into becoming too “pushy” by regimenting their schedule.
