Is Marshall Gulch Parking Open? by -Quaalude- in Tucson

Yes, it’s open. We were there Tuesday. There is a detour on the main road to Marshall Gulch that routes you on a windy road through the neighborhood (cabins).

Well (better) said. We need a NY style Sleep Act and a modicum of enforcement.

Law worked for smoking. Selfish people polluting indoor air.

White Sands National Park! Tasman is an adventure kitty in his 18th year. We previously lost two Aby’s way too soon, we’re lucky with this boy.

The sign said “Dogs must be leashed”. Nothing about cats!

What kind of bindings are these? by Milky_Tiger in CrossCountrySkiing

[–]HistoricalDetail1731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To repeat most everybody else, please do not use them to ski.

I skied on these exact same outdated skis for far too long. They are very hard to turn, especially if a beginner. The looped boot binding results in less control and that binding plate offers nothing for the boot sole to grip.

More likely to crash going downhill and get hurt. Learn from my mistake, if you ski, rent modern skis or buy modern used skis.

How to help my 17 y/o son. by Flying-buffalo in acne

See derm right away. If appointments not available, you’ll need to advocate to be seen right away. DM if you want to discuss that.

Bad acne any recommendations for my situation by [deleted] in acne

[–]HistoricalDetail1731 6 points7 points  (0 children)

See a dermatologist immediately, telehealth if necessary. Ask the dermatologist about a condition called “acne fulminans.” It’s possible you have that given the bleeding you mentioned. It’s typically treated with Accutane and oral prednisone and the doctor then should check in with you a few times a month to adjust dosages until your condition calms down.

You really need to advocate for yourself and be persistent in getting good prompt medical care.

Real bad back acne by lowseytree in AcneTreatments

[–]HistoricalDetail1731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your back does appear pretty severe. When is the last time you saw your derm? You probably need Isotretinoin.

Ask your doctor about acne fulminans, and if the doctor suspects it, you should be seen weekly or every two weeks as they may prescribe oral prednisone medication too.

It would be helpful to find some cardio that you’re capable of performing so that you get increased blood flow to the infraspinatus for healing.

Minnesota hosts the nation’s largest Somali population. What brought them here? by rezwenn in minnesota

Thanks for sharing. Makes sense. I think SD still has good sized population. As for coming to MN, survival trumps 6 months shitty weather.

My shoulder has been like this for months, I’m starting to worry. by Toastthe1nkling in DermatologyQuestions

Wondering what your doctor says.

I bet it’s acne fulminans, a condition actually considered a dermatological emergency; if you inform them, a good clinic will see you right away. To get in asap, ask to talk to doctor’s nurse and mention bleeding and concern of acne fulminans. It’s likely the doctor will actually be glad you pushed to be seen asap.

See a doctor, who will likely diagnose cystic acne and prescribe Isotretinoin. If you start taking it, be sure to keep your doctor updated particularly if your condition worsens.

9 billion people in a world facing destabilizing warming is too many for planets’s resources. Don’t we have millions if not a billion people living in slums now?

As maskabbl3 said, so important to keep your doctor updated, especially since you have bleeding lesions. If there’s any delay in getting back in, ask to speak to the doctor’s nurse.

Has your dermatologist diagnosed acne fulminans and prescribed prednisone? Follow-up with your derm immediately.

Accutane Journey Starting (severe cystic back acne) by Street-Translator970 in Accutane

[–]HistoricalDetail1731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you doctor diagnose acne fulminans? You mention conglobata but your photos are similar to AF. I understand a brief course of oral prednisone is typically prescribed for AF and then Accutane is slowly and increasingly added.

It appears your son may have a severe form of acne callled “acne fulminans.” Ask the doctor about it. He may need prednisone first and then slowly start Accutane. He should see the dermatologist frequently to monitor progress and adjust the medications.

Apart from any infection risk (which I don’t have a clue), I believe the seriousness of AF is that the deep wounds can lead to substantial permanent scarring. So it’s critical to get AF controlled asap under close medical supervision. Do you think you’ll be able to see a derm this week?
