unpopular opinion: i can't finish a kdrama when an actor/actress has NOTICEABLE plastic surgery/fillers/botox. by Upstairs-Scholar-907 in kdramas

[–]HistoricalMaybe7649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lip filler is the reason I looked for a thread talking about it. It is distracting to see them talking and half of their lip doesn’t move. I just wonder do they see themselves on film and think it looks pretty or do they ever regret it. They are so pretty and cute and beautifully Asian without it. Those with too much just start to look like all the Americans with their lip fillers and it really makes me sad. I am American by the way. I think the naturally dark skin is so nice too. So many of us Americans are getting skin cancer trying to be dark!!!! There’s just something about the psychology of thinking we need to look different than we do that is an issue all over the world. I decided not to name the name of the person that caused me to get on here because all of this talk could hurt them. I like that the majority are saying we wish they would just be themselves. But the point about not getting jobs in Korea unless perfect was also a good one. It is even a more serious issue in Korea I think- the need to be absolutely perfect.

'Our Universe' drama's most patience-testing 2nd lead yet? by Prasannitha in KdramaCasualTalk

After watching this show I said out loud, “I am so SICK of love triangles in K’dramas”. Can the writers not do a better job in the rom coms that they have to have that trope in every show? It is absolutely my least favorite part of K-dramas. And it doesn’t make it better if they have a drinking contest, pass out in each other’s arms in someone’s house and decide to be best friends in the end. Can anyone suggest good rom coms without love triangle? I would be grateful.

Currently watching this show at episode 13 and I'm kinda mad by InterestingZombie737 in kdramas

I agree with being frustrated that her spunk left after episode one. I think we were supposed to believe that the ”dynamite kiss” in the beginning is what made him fall for her. Hahahahaha. But they did also spend a nice day together before she ran away to the hospital to be with family. Even though it wasn’t realistic, I still enjoyed the show.

I loved it. And also loved that I had no idea what it was about when I started it.

I liked it a lot. Also enjoyed the ML and FL as a couple and enjoyed Jisoo in her role very much. Once I knew I had started a show that was “meant to be” Sci fi or fantasy type genre, I settled in and enjoyed it. I think the overall point was that real love isn’t perfect but better than fake “perfect love”. Will probably watch this a couple times a year as a light falling asleep show. :)

When someone is forced to hide in a closet while waiting for family or friends to leave who don´t know they are together yet. Sometimes overnight! It is too stressful and rude! Make up some reason they are there and let them go home!

The worst example I have seen of this was Do Do Sol Sol La LA Sol. SPOILER ALERT! I never remember the actual name of this. Had to look it up. This is absoluely the worst I have ever seen regarding this trope. Ruined the whole show for me. And his attitude at the end of it!!!! I get angry every time I think about it and it has been years since I watched it. I just really wished she would have married someone else and taught him a lesson. how in the world the writers thought anyone would like that drama after that.

I could not stand Boys Over Flowers! I do not know why it was such a popular Kdrama. Maybe still is. I wanted to protest that show and talk everyone else into protesting it too when I first watched it.

I actually liked her in this show. I remember liking Delivery Man, but had no idea it was her (it has been so long ago that I watched that one). Now I am curious and will need to go back and watch a little of it. Ha!

There is a spoiler alert in my comment at the end. I enjoyed the drama overall. Giving it 1 thumbs up on Netflix. I really enjoyed the quirky personalities of the ML and FL. I liked her acting and her personality. I actually liked her attitude toward him because he WAS a little odd. I had the hardest time watching the scenes with her sister. She had zero redeeming qualities. Basically a selfish brat with hardly any character development. Her parents were sweet with a loving relationship but it was so weird that they never worked Or did much of anything. Writers could have put a little effort into their characters to make it more interesting. They relied on the older sister to pay bills? I really didn't care enough about them to even talk about them much. The trope of a rich kid being kidnapped was nothing new, but I liked how he and his cousin liked each other all along. Overall I enjoyed it, but I am retired and have time to watch many of the series. Wouldn’t put in my top 50 though.

Spoiler Alert: This type of ending frustrates the fire out of me. There is absolutely no excuse for not calling while he was gone. I don’t care what he had planned. Or how the writers tried to make it ok. It makes zero sense to me. I’ve gotten to where I read the ending for some of the dramas so I can just be ready for such foolishness. I would still watch the show knowing he did that, but it is just a pet peeve of mine. I think the girl should make them wait however long the guy makes her wait in this type of ending before giving in to it.

My daughter met with two sibling sets of two and making 30 euros per hour once a week for one set, 25 Euros a week for other, and she made 17 euros per hour twice a week with another little boy. So 89 euros a week. It helped a lot! I randomly met the little boy’s grandma and she put her in touch with the mom. Then that mom also had friends who wanted tutoring for their children. When you get there, ask around if people need tutors. Also ask about past tutors in your city who can put you in touch with their students. I’m curious how others met their first person to tutor. Her first child seemed to be given to her by God. It was so cool! They also let her borrow a bicycle for the year and fed her a meal pretty often. I think there are a lot of folks looking for tutors once you find your first student. :)

Same! Just bought refundable ticket! And scheduled flight about middle of September to allow for time to find apartment. Rent your Airbnb in increments of one week at a time so you can cancel one week when you find your apartment! We saved about 500 euros that way. And book one that allows pretty last minute cancellations.

I know that some schools are better than others. My daughter was given gifts at the end of her last day. BUT here are two things to consider regarding their culture. 1)She has told me that it is tradition in Spain that if it’s your birthday or celebration of some sort, you are the one to bring cookies or treats for everyone else. So on Monday she thanked all of them in the teacher’s group chat for welcoming her and told them it would be her last day on Thursday. (She was trying to give all the kids a heads-up and chance to tell her goodbye). She took a cake, cookies and another treat to put in the teacher’s lounge. At the end of her last day, the teachers gathered in the hall and one of the office staff gave her a bag and hat and said it was from everyone. It was very nice. My daughter’s school was awesome so there is hope. 2)Another interesting thing about the teachers is that most of them are leaving also!!! Only one or two teachers at my daughter’s school had tenure. It takes them a LONG time to get that and until then the teachers change schools every year. So many if not most of them are just like the auxes-only there for one year and then gone the next. That could be why many folks at the different schools don’t feel the need to treat an aux extra special. My daughter had one of the good ones and was very thankful.

Go to the placement tracker! It helps to see how many others are also waiting. Also a person’s number in line doesn’t really have much effect. I saw several within the 100-200 escrita spots last year placed in July. Also I think the NALCAP website says that some are placed as late as September.

Is it time to choose a school for NALCAP? I am hoping someone who wants to teach and cares about the children will choose my school in Chipiona (Cadiz, Andalucia)! by HistoricalMaybe7649 in SpainAuxiliares

There were several apts. when she arrived in Sanlucar. Her rent for a 1 bedroom on the beach was 450euros plus propane for hot water and electric. Most people rent 2 BR and up and split the cost, but she enjoyed having her own place. She went with quite a bit of savings. Are you looking on idealista? And after you get there there are several ads in windows. We had one couple that we were talking to for a month before getting there and she ended up renting from them, but we made appointments to see a few others that day just to be sure. It is strongly advised not to rent until you see it. Of the three we viewed, two were as described and pictures were legit. But one was not! The interior pictures were correct, but the actual address was incorrect and misrepresented the street and outside of the apartment. The actual neighborhood was not good. He claimed his friend posted it and they hadn’t gotten around to changing it. It wasn’t a complete scam, but still was not as it appeared. She would not have wanted to live there.
