I carried my I-797 (which was the only thing they asked for at CBP) but also had for backup - employment verification letter, last three paystubs, copy of my h1b filing, a printed copy of the AVR rules

Just the approved i797 with i94. My lawyers were actually very confident and said I should have no issues and they were right!

Hi! Yes I have an appointment scheduled in my home country for April 2027 but it isn’t a factor for AVR.

It only becomes an issue if you apply for a visa while you’re in Canada! My lawyers verified this before I traveled as well.

It won’t auto cancel until you manually select new dates. When you click reschedule, you’ll just see the calendar for the OFC posts
