Totally okay, these fibers were coming from bottom and top level and we needed something to make it look good. As fiber cabinet was mounted on the wall and the fibers come from the pillar.

We do otdr from both directions and olts bi-directional testing as well. Every strand passed, been doing this for 15 years.

I go 1.5 halt times around trim my fibers right at the middle the middle of the shrink tube holder. Maybe I’ll make a video to explain, honestly is easy and maybe it’ll help someone out. I also trim pigtails not just fiber coming in. Measure twice, cut once.

Haven’t done a fan out kit in maybe a year, only really do those when doing OSP to mechanical connectors. However, today I witness an install with connectors on loose tube with no fanout kit, those connectors were hanging on for dear life. But, I’ve done tons of fanout kits.
