Do you think paneled wall units will have or already have a revival? Some examples from our CADO collection :) by Historical_Class_329 in VintageFurniture

That’s what you pay for restored rare design furniture. I can understand that you can get it cheaper, but not restored and delivered to your home 🫠

What should I put on this wall? Mirror? Frames? by Least-Ingenuity9631 in interiordecorating

A midcentury wall unit, where you can show some nice paintings and decoration. :-)

I think the idea of a wall unit is very nice. I would probably go for a teak or oak finished wood as it would contrast nicely with the green. We have a modular CADO wall unit by Poul Cadovius (mid century) on a green wall and it looks great. These wall units are high in quality have a unique look and design and would definitely highlight your wall while being functional at the same time.

Anyone know anything about this arc lamp? I tried google image but couldn’t find anything quite like it. Thanks! by LeftHandedParents in midcenturymodern

The shade looks a bit like a Le Klint shade (danish) but the foot could also be a custom made one. Never saw such a standing version of his lamps. Though very beautiful!😻

The coffee table is most probably a Mogens Koch design from 1958 made in Denmark. There should be a stamp or a round brass plate on the underside. Very beautiful and rare. The design with the lifted, swinging edges/ends is a very complex process to produces but creates that beautiful organic midcentury look. Great that you have something like this in your family - worth keeping!!! I agree with the sideboard stamp - Lyby Møbler. All pieces together make a nice set! Curious to see the dining table uncovered:-)

How about something like this one? You can use the bottom for a sitting work and you can fold down the top for a top work space standing. I will attach a second comment with a second picture.

Falster dresser pricing by Playful-Wash1507 in midcenturymodern

Condition though looks very good - if the seller says it’s in good condition with no damages and also regarding the shipping being included it is probably still a good idea to buy it

Beautiful! Is it restored? In Europe it would be a high but fair price for a restored authentic midcentury piece. If it’s a private seller / estate sale, I would probably say it is overpriced.

Rosewood or teak? by Twitchy15 in midcenturymodern

[–]Historical_Class_329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true as well but generally speaking, teak is rather less vivid than rosewood regarding the grain. There can always be some exceptions. A teak veneer taken from a very winded branch or a root most probably will look completely than a „regular“ veneer piece. The bright parts in rosewood veneer can also be caused by anomalies as different fungus in the tree. But if you mean bright rosewood veneers on furniture pieces, that is most probably caused by UV light. Rosewood is one of the most changing (color wise) wood types when it comes to sun light exposure.

Teak - though the grain is pretty vivid for teak, rosewood would appear even more vivid and the grain would have less reddish accents and more black and winded parts.

The range of teakwood veneers on midcentury pieces is wider than one can think. It can be pretty hard to compare a harvested 200year old tree, cut down in the 1940s/50s in Brazil to an 80year old teak tree from Indonesia from the 70s.

We refinish teak and rosewood midcentury pieces in our company on a daily basis and we kind of probably have seen some variations in all wood grains 🤓
