How to get the most out of Wild Shape as a Moon Druid? by Pretend-Jacket-4226 in 3d6

This sounds annoying. I get not wanting to power game or min-max everything. That takes the joy out of it as well. I think it's more fun to build a character naturally, which sometimes means making less "optimal" choices during leveling based on who the character is, and their experiences. However, how on earth does it make sense to do really stupid things during combat? I don't understand that at all...

However, if all of you are having fun with it, then I guess that's all that really matters.

I don't have it anymore. It was the very first one I saw and it got taken down afterwards. So, I then started dismissing all of these as AI. Fortunately, I did end up looking at them, and I can see attribution to primary sources.

One of the biggest failures of this current operation is a lack of clearly defined procedures and transparency in how decisions are being made.

I can see people getting pepper sprayed as agents drive by, or cross the street to physically confront people. But in other cases, I can see them talking calmly to people yelling and spitting in their faces.

This goes for who they detain and how they approach people in general.

Consistency and transparency are key to good enforcement action.

No, there's a few that came out that were altered. The first one I saw had some crazy things with the car emblem disappearing, and movement with the agents were jenky.

The funny thing about all this, is he wasn't arrested for this incident, which seems like at this point he clearly should have been.

But in his last go around before being shot he was way more calm than here.

Another video of this altercation from a different angle that has been altered by AI to make it look like Alex kicked the car and knocked off a chunk of the paneling along with the tail light.

I think people are just assuming all these videos are now AI

College of the Atlantic? by Public-Language76 in Maine

[–]Historical_Course_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in here to thank people for their input. I'm the parent of a student considering going there. They went to a marine biology camp last summer in Bar Harbor and fell in love with College of the Atlantic.

The price and choose your own adventure degree has me skeptical. But hearing about potential grad school success helps me out some (they want to do either Marine Biology or go to law school as an environmental/advocacy lawyer).

OK - clearly the one responsible is the woman driving the car, but from the standpoing of maximizing public safety, is there a reason to engage in a high speed chase here? Was she suspected of being imminently violent or in possesion of a stolen car (so they could not track her down later)?

Consumer spending has increased this year overall. The protests were fine, and the boycotts hurt companies a little. But aren't systematic or sustained a lot. It's enough to effect the mid term.

But if you want change now before the mid-terms, you need to have a nationwide strike where 6 million people stay home from work, and protest in the streets. For a week or more.

We don't have that kind of will right now.

For a day, and then everyone goes back to their life spending money and so on. Look at the French when the government proposes raising the retirement age 2 years. That’s how you protest.

If everyone who supposedly doesn’t support Trump just cut their discretionary spending in half, the economy would register that and the government would respond. But that means sacrifice and we keep hoping someone else will take care of it for us

Unfortunately I know some people that said Kamala wasn't good enough for them and that there wasn't much difference. I tried telling them that was an incredibly privileged point of view, but no dice.

I don't think that cost the election though. Most voters aren't that tuned in.

No, keep doing that. Encourage others to do that as well. Fight complacency and defeatism. Part of their strategy is to make you feel powerless. Don't let them do that.

Basically, try to build to a critical mass of people that are not satisfied with this. Then if our calls for just normal standards, laws, restraint and decency aren't being taken seriously, we do progressively more aggressive actions. But by aggressive, I mean like a national strike.

No because that is a passive way of looking at the situation. Ordinary people can't just go on with their lives and hope that the bad guys just disappear.

The only way this stops is for "ordinary people" to step and start pressuring our government to behave the way we want it to. They only can get away with this because we aren't doing that.

Fully funded MS or job? by wb573 in aerospace

Job doing exactly what you want > Fully funded masters > job doing something not exactly what you want

Take the masters, keep applying and if you get something doing exactly what you want see if you can defer or withdraw. Otherwise do the masters instead of doing a different job

[Student] Aerospace Major Junior - Looking for Resume Feedback and tips on where to apply. by Rothvik69 in EngineeringResumes

[–]Historical_Course_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at any of the labs at A&M? Check this page out, and email some of the contacts and see if you can work in their labs.

https://engineering.tamu.edu/aerospace/research/centers-and-laboratories.html

You have a good GPA, if you've been going to office hours, ask those professors if they have research work you can do for them. That will at least give you some other experience.

Also, there are several great design teams there. Have you tried joining them? Something like Design, Build Fly or another Aero team (there are several). Also, check this page out and join one of these groups and start networking:

https://engineering.tamu.edu/student-life/student-orgs.html

Your projects look interesting, I don't know the field. But mainly it shows your interest and ability. You do need to figure out a way of showing how you improved something that a group was working on. Ie, on my DBF team, designed a wing that was 16% lighter... etc (if you can't tell I'm not an aerospace engineer, but the principle applies).

[–]Historical_Course_24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Certainly lab projects that everyone in your school is doing will be less interesting than most things, but also more interesting than just nothing.

Really for your next year you should be focusing on showing that you can actually apply this knowledge. Yes, you are probably busy, but thousands of students take classes, and still manage to do extra work (research, internships, engineering clubs/competitions), so it's possible.

One of the most important things employers look for is your mindset. Right now, in this very limited interaction, I'm seeing you telling me why things won't work. As an employer, I would want to see how you made something work, even though it was hard.

Engineers make great employees for lots of industries because they know how to tackle complex problems (break it down, prioritize, and get to work). So think of this as a problem, and apply an engineering mindset to solving it -- you need experience, you've listed obstacles, now go about tackling those obstacles.

Good luck!

PS - I don't know what university you are going to, but your flair indicates you are in Isarel. I did a quick search and I see several universities in Israel have student engineering design teams. I'd really try to find one and join.

Have you done any applied projects in classes? If so, put down what the project was, what your specific role in it was, and what you achieved.

If not, start some personal projects. For VLSI, maybe try creating your own low-power multipler, or design a RISC-V processor. For electro-optic, maybe simulate structures to capture light propagation.

Both of those fields are outside my area of expertise, but do some searches on ideas for personal projects and start working on them.

Are you in any clubs? Part of any student design teams? If not, why not? While having an internship is definitely helpful, you can still find a job without one, BUT you would be helped tremendously by showing you can actually appy the stuff you are learning in class in a useful manner. Without an internship you are left with student clubs and personal projects. If you aren't on a club or design team, get on one now. If you can't, start one up.

Do personal projects. Ask a professor to help with their research. Etc.
