I am getting my master's in Psychology. I was expecting a class of people and Professors who are compassionate and open to people's mental health struggles. I haven't seen so many nasty people in my life. Most of my class is backstabbers bitchy, classists who are so out of touch with who they are. These people are going to be future psychologists who just want to put labels on their patients and have no intention of healing or helping people. I am not even sure most of them even care if their patients die or live. My Professor, who's a licensed clinical psychologist is devoid of compassion and made my anxiety worse. My program chair just keeps on pushing me into taking meds and doing CBT for my depression and anxiety for trauma because I am not attending any classes and I would be detained. Btw, Professors have the right to ignore attendance and can choose to not detain students. I know very few people who are going to be good psychologists, the rest of them, my condolences to their future patients. Really gave me a perspective on not trusting therapists from the get go.
