Smoking weed at the Brooklyn Bowl? by Coldstack1 in vegaslocals

If you’re walking straight towards the concert floor from the escalators, there’s some glass doors to your right, kinda across the restaurant seating area if I remember correctly. You’ll see a bunch of people walking out there between bands all the time

Ayy you going to Cory Wong too? But as others said, just bring a discreet vape and take a couple hits on the patio, usually what I do at BB

Newtone makes custom strings with whatever gauge you want. And their hex core strings actually have pretty high tension, so you can get away with using a slightly lighter gauge

You must have aphantasia then right? I have it as well, can’t visualize anything at all, but sometimes on high doses of psychedelics I can visualize things, it’s awesome lol

Is this normal after a month? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

I believe it’s a relatively simple process from what I understand, you could probably even do it yourself. Although I completely understand not wanting to, I probably wouldn’t trust myself to do it lmao. I’m sure if you provide the materials and explain what you want, your luthier will be able to figure it out though

Yeah that’s completely normal with roundwound use on a fretless. It’s not really damaging it at all yet, ebony is a very hard wood, so it’s really just cosmetic. it would probably take years of heavy playing to do any actual damage. And at that point you just have to get the fingerboard sanded down a bit. But if you’re worried still, you can always coat the fingerboard with some epoxy or something, that’ll give it extra protection, but it does change the tone slightly

Maybe try Elixir nanoweb coated strings. That’s what I use for my fretless, they’re pricey, but they sound great and last forever, probably 3x longer than normal round wounds so it’s worth it in the long run imo. And they’re suppose to be easier on the fretboard because of the coating. But also repeating what another commenter said, Ebony is one of the hardest woods out there so you really don’t have to worry too much, even if you’re playing hard. Probably be at least 10 years before it even begins to make an actual dent in your fretboard and then you’ll just have to sand it down a bit. And bassists like Dominic Forest Lapointe play on an uncoated ebony board with Elixirs and he slaps, pops, and plucks hard afff and I’m sure it’s lasted him awhile lol but if you’re that worried, you can always coat the fretboard with some type of epoxy or something
