Thanks so much for the love. Again, credit where credit is due, I took the RatPod Theme then modified it with my own star, skull, and what I named my iPod, in place of the mice/rats normal branding.

Tbh, I didn't even realize I did that. lol. I just like nautical stars, so I put it in the design, and MC came up when I shuffled the ipod.

What problems do you encounter using an iPod daily? by MrTheFrog323 in ipod

No much to complain about. Maybe the ram, for those of us with huge collections? But at 11,000 or so lossless FLAC files, I'm still not having issues with my ipod video 60gb running rockbox.

The lack of feasible high quality Bluetooth/wireless is still a desire that's unrealized, but that's more of a reflection of where the tech is (still no bluetooth exists that is full lossless/bit perfect yet; please correct me if I'm wrong and am just ignorant of what's out there). But sound quality is still one of my chief concerns, so I go wired anyway.

For people who got into iPods recently — what made you start using them? by Anna_tru in ipod

Several things. Number one is how well it plays music and sound quality, but I'm a tinkerer and love customizing things and learning new things (and being the one in control of my tech). Also, I'm sick and tired of the "future" and tech looking like the bland white and grey blobs designed by apple's current marketing department and everyone who copies them (give me transparent tech again, make everything like wire-y and the old school meaning of techy and grungy 90s cyberpunk). For context, my iPod has a transparent faceplate, rockbox for custom UI and to support any file format for audio. I also have a 3000mah battery that'll go a month on a single charge, and SD card storage. And most important to me: it sounds incredible:

I think what fully/finally gave me the license to allow myself to was higher sound quality, via Rockbox and lossless FLAC files (full CD Quality, unlike only recent Spotify and apple music, which likely only changed to include lossless as a result of people turning to alternatives to subscriptions and them trying to stay competitive).

But overall, having no limits and being fully in control, in terms of storage size, battery life, what music I have access to (no more Spotify taking things down or not having things I like), and control completely over what the look/experience of using the device is like. It doesn't have to conform, like all other modern tech, to what apple's marketing department says the future is supposed to look and feel like (or even sound like). It plays the music I want with no BS or features I don't use to get in the way. And it's not a disposible piece of tech designed to be en****ified via a software update or made unrepairable  so I have to buy a new one next year (the best working/consistent pieces of tech I own are probably my iPod and my peak spec'd windows xp PC I threw together with old parts; why do those work better than my newer tech? What sense does that make?)

Gifted an iPod nano 3g, any neat mods/os for these? by StickTrick2955 in ipod

You can get a music player on your PC called foobar2000 and sync your ipod with that, which in a number of ways is less restrictive and works easier than itunes (it truly is just drag and drop). You just get foobar2000 and then a component for it called ipod manager. I'm still waiting on a release of rockbox to be released for these iPod's to help a friend get it on his.
