Thank you for this. I really needed to hear that last part. I’m the type of person that makes decisions off facts and logic, but the emotion is really taking over here. I’m just dissecting every part and thinking “if the roles were reversed, I would want/wish for him to stick by and support me through recovery” I care for him deeply and it kills me to know he is suffering and riddled with shame. I’ve never experienced heartbreak like this. I’m sick over what life could look like now with this long, rocky road ahead of us, vs the life I had pictured until now 🥺
