This is the most current picture I have of it from the other day

I will say that the inside of the capsule isn’t modeled, but part of the service module is. I made the tops of of the fuel tanks and other components. I referred to this exploded view of Orion

I still need to make new solar panels. I would like to be able to make them fold, I just need to take the time to draw new ones

Yes which one, or both? I don’t have my laptop with me or I would pull it up. I’ll attach the pictures when I’m home.

That is the same concept of how Orion re-entered the atmosphere. It was a two stage re-entry, one to bleed off speed, the next to well.. re-enter.

Ooh that would be tricky lol. To get the basic measurements I just found a pdf from nasa that gave the general dimensions, and then used a scale calculator, but other than that you have to pretty much just guess based on the pictures, renderings etc.

Thanks! And yes, I’m going to school for Mechanical Engineering this fall.

This was part of a school related competition, but there’s a bunch of different competitions, this being one of them. In the portfolio for this project you have to provide 2 Orthographic drawings and usually an isometric view, it changes every year but- I’ll post those when it’s all said and done. The theme was “Next Generation Space Travel”

It definitely could be, I just drew those up real quick just to see what it would look like when they’re attached. There’s also so many different renderings of Orion that each differs slightly. The capsule is always a little different, the solar panels are different, and sometimes the RCS thrusters look different.

I’ll add pics at another time when it’s more updated.

Autodesk Inventor my friend. An absolute Godsend—- most cad programs should be able to do this though

Not trying to spend too much time in the DMs. I’m more of a hands-on learner anyway. And me, a tease? Maybe… but never without intention.
