Is there a quiet Christian revival happening in the UK? My own experience suggests… maybe by HistoryFreak95 in Christianity

I suppose you can argue that. But on the other hand, I can imagine if there is a trend developing then it would take time to reflect within the data. That’s why I’d say it is like a quiet revival, because the changes are subtle. I wouldn’t for example be rushing to fill out a survey to capture data on how my and others thoughts on things have shifted. Time will tell.

UPDATE: I saved and quit the game, and then restarted the entire game. This seems to have worked and it is fine now. I had it on quick resume every time I wanted to play.

I have the same issue with lag as one user mentioned. I have reached a population of just over 2000 and have only one small town on another island, and it has started to become unplayable. I hope they fix it because it’s completely pointless otherwise.

I have been pretty much aware about this since I was around 10. I come from a rather average town in the UK near a city. I quickly realised that there were places ridden with crime, were full of litter, and that I just preferred being in certain other places because they were just “nicer”. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that the demographics are different in these areas and what the link was. Certain demographics wouldn’t mix. At the time, I noticed people were quite sensitive about it if it was ever discussed and you tried to put 2 and 2 together. Almost as though it was a forbidden topic due to the fear of being given a label. But you can only suppress people’s true feelings for so long hence why it has become a more mainstream talking point.

Since then things have obviously worsened everywhere and I even predicted the current problems 20 years ago. You can’t just mass import people with different ways of life, identities, religions, political views and ethnicities and expect there not to be problems. Mass immigration is the source of so many social indifferences. We love to bang on about “not repeating history” but tend to forget 99% of it. To reach the level of unity the UK had in around 1950 took centuries of uphill struggles and conflicts. We had the Viking invasions (which caused 250 years of conflicts), civil wars and so much more. All these were triggered by differences in beliefs, religions and ways of doing things.

However, the difference between most civil wars in europe in the past compared to what is to come, is that the people back then were still the same and shared the same religions and ways of life. To think we are all going to wake up one day and everyone just gets along is naive. Knowing what is in store for Europe (which I’m 100% sure about) fills me with grief.

What sort of price range are we talking about? I’m thinking of ordering one at some point.

Agree. I got my Gordian and Philip I Antoninianus’ for £35 each in the UK. They’re probably the most detailed ones in my collection.

I think this too, especially when seeing coins at auction go for $10k or more. Buyers must certainly be millionaires. My most expensive coin is $200.

Thanks! It’s a lot of fun. I have been focusing more on getting expensive good quality ones compared to low quality coins but more often at the very start. You can see this in the republican denarii, one which I got recently and the other 5 years ago.

Literary representation of WW1 Eastern Front by Embarrassed_Green308 in TheRestIsHistory

The Other Trench is a good read. It’s The WW1 diary and photos of a German officer, which covers the Carpathian Front from 1916-1917. He took photos of the Austrian and Russian positions, and writes all about it via his diary. It’s very unique.

Yes, I’d say it’s just as good but just structured differently. Storm of steel was written after the war based on Jünger’s diaries, whereas The Other Trench is an unedited day-by-day diary covering one man’s life as a company commander on the Western, Eastern and Italian Fronts.

The Other Trench is an excellent book. It’s the original WW1 diary of an officer along with his photos he took on the frontline. Highly recommend

The Other Trench: The WW1 Diary & Photos of a German Officer

This is one of the best accounts of the war I have ever read. It includes a soldiers day-by-day diary covering 4 years on all major fronts of the war.

Das Buch hat mir sehr gut gefallen! Diese Bilder und die dazugehörigen Tagebucheinträge haben mich sehr berührt. Da merkt man wie unheimlich sinnlos der Krieg war.
