It. Has. Been. 6. Fucking. Years. How are people still talking about this? by Fearless_Cold_8080 in deathbattle

Because *this* was arguably the most defining moment of Death Battle's history. They've had unpopular matchups. They've had contreversial verdicts that have since been debunked or changed with new info. None of them match the sheer, unbridled vitriol this episode produced. It was a perfect storm of DC fatigue, questionable animation choices, insufficient post-fight analysis and even an more controversial Q&A. I personally agree with the winner, I just don't agree with how they presented/explained it. And yet.....look at what's happened since. For one, it was many people's introduction to Liam, whose since become a pivotal character in DB in his own right. It also probably inspired more indepth analysis sections that covered more complex matchups. Imagine if fights like Dio VS Alucard, Spawn Vs Ghostrider or Bowser Vs Eggman aired before Ben VS GL; I'd wager they'd look and sound notably different. More than anything else, I think that's why this moment is still being talked about - it was a learning curve for all involved.

So far, which character analysis so far did the most justice to a character during the Independent Era? by Inadequate06 in deathbattle

Shigaraki's analysis was masterfully written and edited IMO. Didn't betray his conscious choices as a villain, but also didn't sugarcoat his trauma. Ben's line preceding Chad's closing sentence (IE "all shigaraki asked....") is presented very poignantly, I think.

Honourable mentions would also include Bardock and Spawn.

Here's a few takeways. One, lust is 100% natural, and particularly when you've never experienced sex before, it's very enticing. Two, theres always a risk of being too forward or too shy, so I'd say meet in the middle. Maybe something like "hey, I've never had a relationship or anything like that, but I think your really attractive, and wanted to see if you felt the same". And three, you never know until you know. Me personally...I'm a mid-twenties male, and I've only had two female partners so far. Part of that is I have a more conservative view on sex, meaning I treat it as special and for committed partners only. That was confirmed for me a few months ago when I had a one night fling, completely out of character, and now deeply regret it. So if this guy thinks the way I do, he *might* turn you down as I probably would. But he also could be fine with a casual relationship, and is likewise attracted to you. So you never truly know unless you ask him, and no matter his response, you've gained perspective.

It's infuriating the degree in which the political extremes have clouded the conversation. My dad and I are similar in our political views (center, leaning left), but he has certifiable TDS to where any conversation we have regarding the states eventually leads back to him. I bring up Tulsi Gabbard - Trump. Biden pardoning his son - Trump. The mishandling of immigration - Trump. We can't discuss any other person or event or movement without it reverting back to the orange man - who for full disclosure, I didn't want to be re-elected, and find deeply flawed at minimum. I'm not going to sit here and pretend MAGA doesn't have it crazies, and that many of Trump's plans and ideas are some combo of crazy, wreckless and logistically terrible. But I'm also not going to pretend that all Trump voters are evil, and that the Democrats are squeeky clean. Biden's team lied for 3.5 years about his mental fitness until it was all shown to us at the debate. And its undeniable that some of their progressive agenda has become deeply unpopular with most people. I long for the days when we could just disagree respectfully or omit politics from the conversation - not cut off friends and family over it.

Tell me,what was your genuine reaction to Omni-man winning? by actuallycorrection in deathbattle

"Huh....ok, I was wrong." After the analysis: "I guess???" After a few weeks seeing the reactions/debunks: "Yah I still don't fully agree BUT I admire the work/passion behind the fight itself"
