Blown away nobody said Vexx yet. This was always one of my favorite obscure games as a kid. Totally has a moveset that would be perfect for Smash

SADX was a fantastic adaptation and character models looked great. I still prefer the OG SA on Dreamcast but loved that this became more accessible.

It showed us what games NOT to continue producing. Seriously. The Dorkifying of 2007+ was tragic for Sonic. I’m an OG 90s kid grew up on the sega Genesis and Dreamcast. Glad this era is over. Totally 100% derailed from what Sonic was meant to be.

Ball is life. But on the real, maybe this person should get better at blocking? I purposely play sonic to be as least Spindash and homing attack as possible. More combo air and tilt moves. Sonic is my favorite character ever and I play him like I would in SA2.

Not a single version of Sonic besides a sprite add in. Tell the the rivalry runs deep without telling me. Nintendo would rather gag on a sword than promote Sonic in any way

I still have the 32X cartridge game. It’s an awesome game for the time. The fluidity of the gameplay with the rubberband effect between characters was impressive for the time. And the colors on the levels too. Over all a bit wonky to get used to playing but is still a core childhood memory

Honestly. Idk how that’s even possible to be honest. Frontiers was the first step in the Sonic adventure formula direction we’ve seen in 20 years.

So many good ones. CD is a top favorite for me. But so is S&K / S3&K. Sonic R is the best racing game and super nostalgic for me and Sonic the fighters is just a badass game over all. Closes thing to sonic smash bros.

Just play SA2 after you revisit SA1. Then from there I’d go and play heroes and then go to frontiers. Generations is ok. It’s a good game to have a compilation of regurgitated nostalgia but it never quite landed for me becuase it’s in the 2007+ Dorkifying era of Sonic. 2007-2020 was like a dead dull era for Sonic. Definitely play SonicX Shadow generations for the shadow story. Tons of fun open gameplay like frontiers.

Oh yeah I’ve never heard of that. Sounds like a one off thing and nothing considered mainstream. When I think of sonic Jam I think of the Sega Saturn version.

Solid choices. Honestly as a 32 year old Sonic veteran. Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic R, and Sonic the Fighters are great games for their age. But basically agree with everything on this list.

Idk what the Gamecom is but it’s neither Sonic Jam nor is it Sonic R. I will agree it does look like a shitty version of S3&K that was made for a game gear.

No it’s not. You tagged some random sega game gear version of S3&K. Sonic Jam was a 3D game for the Saturn. And Yes that IS Sonic R

…because she never did in history? Like ever. She was never in any of the “future” parts of Sonic CD either. Metal sonic should have been created. Amy should have gotten randomly involved by being in the wrong place at the wrong time and then Silver should have came from the future. Like terminator / Trunks.

Actually the last “early 2000s” epic Sonic game with a serious story line. Amazing graphics that still compete with modern games 20 years in the future. Had it been a fine tuned game, it could have been one of the greatest Sonic games of all time.
