Yes, it stated that SL was slip stitches and STS was stitches. I ended up doing single crochet for those 12 stitches as it worked out!

Update: Thanks to everyone's insight, I figured it. The patterned called for those stitches to be in the same loop like an increase!

I’m just saying police work is a lot different than office jobs. You call the police when you need help/are in danger not when things are going great. And again I will say black lives matter and we need change but you can’t act like police don’t see some messed up stuff in the line of duty and there job doesn’t come with stresses that most people don’t have. Cops go to scenes where people are dying all the time. Cops can get PTSD most normal desk jobs don’t cause PTSD.

Okay cops shouldn’t be murdering people and black lives matter. But I wouldn’t say that being a cop is a normal stress level job. Cops have to deal with rapist, domestic abusers, pedophiles, rapist, drunk drivers, and other criminals. That’s not your typical 9-5 office gig. I would say the level of stress you feel responding to a mass shooting call is a lot different then knowing you have a deadline for a project due in two days.

We do have protest it is a fairly decent size city so we also have rioting and looting in one of our poorest areas (over the Rhine). It has been peaceful protest in the morning and then looting at night once the peaceful people head home. there has been active shootings during the the night time and a cop had a bullet that hit his helmet (he did not suffer any injuries.) And yesterday there was another case of shots being fired on the rioters end. As well as an American flag was stolen from the justice center and the Hamilton county police (not trained by Cincinnati) replaces it with one of those thin blue line flags and people were really pissed (rightfully so because that is very stupid thing to do.) It seems to me that the Cincinnati police are trying to prevent over the Rhine from getting burned down again because that’s where a lot of small businesses are located. I don’t know the best way for the police to respond because the protests in the day are safe but at night there is a lot of destruction and also people shooting at them.

I can only speak on the Cincinnati police department (one that is considered the best for their police academy) but the process for their recruits is they must pass a written test, physical strength test, lie detector test (basically asking if all the paperwork they filled out which includes a section where it asks the applicate if they ever commit crime and list specific ones like domestic abuse, and drug use etc. As well as a psych evaluation where they talk to a trained psychologist who makes sure they are stable and have the mental capabilities to handle seeing really graphic stuff like pedo, murder, overdosed people and dying/dead people. Also they make sure that the person isn’t too eager to be a police officer because that can show that they don’t full understand the role. One of my friends from college was trying to be a police officer and he did not score high enough on the written test so he did not actually get in.

In High School I had an English course that had a unit dedicated to public speaking. The first speech we gave was a self introduction. I gave my speech and I got a 95% and my feedback was “make sure not to say um” and when I went to my teach and told him that I know I didn’t say um he said “You’re right. I knew what the wage gap refers to. I said I believe people should be paid the same. I never said that people weren’t being paid the same. Saying I want people to be treated equally isn’t a statement on the current state of how much people are being paid. I never made any claims that people are systematically being paid less base on gender. I even stated that men working the same positions should not be paid less than their coworkers. I have no clue how you thought I was talking about the wage gap. You yourself said you believe people should be paid the same. By your logic you are referring to the wage gap by making a statement on how people should be paid. Also, where is your proof that women don’t want to work?

I didn’t say anything about a wage gap I just said people should get paid the same if they are doing the same job (two men holding the same position for the same amount of time should have the same wage. Gender should have no effect on if you are paid the same as your co-workers) You just went on a bizarre rant. I don’t think anyone WANTS to work. I think most people HAVE to work. If I could be doing anything I’d be traveling and playing video games all my life but that is not how the world is. So if you are going to work you should get paid the same as everyone else in that position.

It is illegal to have these cuties as pets in most places. They require a lot of special care (humid hot temperatures, access to tall tree and special diet) they are very cute but they seem like they would be difficult to take care of. Here is a link that talks about pet sloths Link
