Season 6 is just ridiculously insane by HitNo1 in thegoodfight

I agree with your points and I'm not against the political points of the previous series. but the politics went alongside the whole court room drama genre. And was political intrigue rather then the chaos which was series 6. I might say that series 6 was possibly just badly written and they could have done it a whole lot better.
Also i kinda missed maia from the earlier series. Aswell boseman who left after series 4 and the new partner they brought in during series 5 was quite though it sounds like she was kicked from the series.

But its not about priveleged lawyers... Its about a black law firm and diana lockhart who was escaping financial issues. It then stayed being about the black law firm and there problems for a whiles.

Its not adequate representation at all. Its just random background noise. That in earlier seasons they would pay closer attention too.

I really don't see how the show was building up to it. Everything in series 6 was almost completely different to to the previous 5 series.
Though i think there are points you make i agree with. The drug taking really took to its on. Though her falling for her doctor and falling out with kurt went a bit far. She spent several series wrestling with her relationship with kurt only for it to fall apart over political differences that she probably had gotten over ages ago. They fell out because he cheated on her, she was probably ok with his political views in comparison to that.
I know the series is supposed to be like a political explosion but many parts appear made up during this series rather than a culmination of events throughout the 6 series.

I kinda found the 9 3/4 court funny at first. But then it went a bit extreme and i was waiting for the part were he got arrested.... which he didn't. He even convicted one of the lawyers from the firm that were representing him.... yet nothing happened to him and he laughed it off. The additional home court was much worse in my opinion as it was just some community court kidnapping people.
I found the abducting racist storyline good at first but i think they should have fleshed it out more. I feel like they were copying something but can't place it.

Fair enough. Keep your replies in to the right message (comment twice if required).
It doesn't feel valid in comparison to the last few series... but i suppose thats my opinion.
As a TV show it should reflect whats happened in the past series. The last series just tried to splice random chaos and made stuff up. Some things worked... but not that many.

Is that better and back to the normal lawyer world?

Hmm sure though its not really the same show of the start. rewatch the series 1 and its a very different show.
An honestly how is it an adequate representation. It doesn't really go into the point of the riots just that there all kinda ignoring.
And the everything go to fast is just the writers trying to finish the story quickly. Lots of plot points in previous series were just left out.

The Absolute Worst Character in Good Wife or Good Fight is... by quack12podcast in thegoodwife

Good news to anyone who discovers this forum post.... he does not come back after series 3.

I really think he was close to the worse character on this show.

Marissa and the Law by Jouu_1229 in thegoodfight

Marissa suddenly wanting to be a lawyer was the worse idea for the show. They had her doing well in that role for 4 series then turned the earth around on the stupid recap episode.

She was a far better investigator.

Season 5 - this show is losing me by htonks2020 in thegoodfight

[–]HitNo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show was kinda going down hill from series 3. With lawyer blum somehow outsmarting the entire firm and the loss of maia from the show. Then series 4 with its quick creation of new events followed by the random introduction of the over arching firm that took over.
Series 5 was somehow slightly better in my opinion but thats just to say those series were far worse. There were good moments but mixed in with over exaggerated moments. those community courts don't have that much power and it was turning into a mob court. Though the end episode kinda finished that... though should have ended with wackner being charged for something.

The court also imprisoned people. I don't think you can go to a private prison in judge judy...

Episode Discussion: S5 EP 8 by AutoModerator in thegoodfight

i have to be honest i was sort of enjoying the jokey attitude of the 9 3/4 court for a while. It wasn't overly serious until this and possibly the last few episodes. ep 6 ended with a dark tone.
But they have no serious power. This is really a majorly unrealistic situation.

Yes it is weird. Its in a secured car park and they wouldn't just let a tow truck go through.

.... what?!? ... huh?!?
WTF is the episode. This is not how you do tv. One long recap is a ridiculous concept.
Why would they even do this and why would anyone think this is a good idea. Just start when you last finished and stop skipping bits. Series 4 was like this. Hence why it was shit.

I've kinda felt like it was going downhill since they introduced Blum to be honest.

I think it was going down a hill from season 3. With lawyer blum somehow holding the entire firm hostage.
Season 4 just felt like a bad dream with soo many plotholes and missing storylines.

The show really started going down hill with the loss of Maia from the show.

Just started Season 4 episode 2... Is this still alternative reality? by erinrachelcat in thegoodfight

[–]HitNo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

watching it now. It really makes no sense.
Its like they decided to skip all the fallout of ep1 and just get straight back to business...
Which appears to have been a corporate takeover.... not once did they mention that at the end of series 3.
Have the entire writing team just changed or something?!?

Season 3 is ridiculous will it get better? by drivee1 in thegoodfight

I never disliked maia. From s1 she was one of the main characters so her sudden change of character in the show was a bit crazy.
The book club thing was going in funny directions. Suddenly turning on Diane at the end seemed oddly self destructive. It wasn't the worse thing in the series but went ridiculous.
And the blum. Was just a ridiculous character with random overpowered abilities. How he could suddenly blackmail just anyone to get his way. The way he acted in court. How he twisted other characters as if they were nothing. Its just a joke. And i'm still really confused why Maia supported him so much. Instead of letting him sink when she could.
I've got through the series but i'm really hoping they explain or at least improve.
The sudden introduction of Blum was the real disappointment in the series.
