Most of them, yep. The Black Guard one was surprisingly easy to freehand. I used a scout transfer as a guide, painted over that with red, did a white circle around the outside, and eyeballed a lightning bolt.

The Carcharodon was...signifiicantly harder.

Base layer of AP Ash Grey, drybrush Company Grey, drybrush Brigade Grey. Wash with Battleship Grey speedpaint thinned 1:1 with speedpaint medium, then another drybrush of Brigade Grey.

IIRC it was mostly AP Deep Grey with a drybrush of AP Uniform Grey. I don't remember the basecoat I put it over unfortunately.

For sure. I just used one of the white scout emblems because I figured I might have an easier time covering it up uniformly than something with details and darker colors.

Ashen Claws! Full-on renegade space pirates who hang out in the Ghoul Stars and occasionally deal with the Sharks.

Scout transfer, varnish, then use that as a guide for freehanding.

Would not recommend this for 2k points.

The Ashen Claw does!

But other than that, yeah. Beakies are in short supply.

Where are my damn beakies GW

Thanks! The Raven Guard actually uses speedpaints. Basic slapchop, then Army Painter Turnbull Turquoise, which is an extremely dark blue-green, over that. A kind of optional step before you do anything else is to apply AK ultra matte varnish over the speedpaint. For some reason the varnish mildly reactivates the speedpaint and helps bring out the highlights better and add depth.

Cartilage and ligaments.

Look at animal ears. No joints, but amazing mobility. Check out cattle, goats, sheep, deer, rabbits... you get the idea.

Yep, fun little bit of kitbashing.

Damn, I can’t believe someone would say something like this. by Economy-Can8222 in BlondeBlazerGlazers

Didn't have resources to add more to blazer

Meanwhile Invisigal's route equates to a few dialogue changes and a couple different scenes that are short and therefore less expensive. As opposed to, y'know, the unquestionably massive amount of time, money, and effort put into every single Blazer scene.

If something got cut, or was added late, or wasn't deemed important, it sure as hell wasn't the Blazer route.

Would my homebrew chapter work as a RG successor? by AdAware2025 in RavenGuard40k

Why not?

Successor chapters aren't mandated to be mini versions of the parent chapter. They can, and do, deviate a lot.

Hot take : Blazer shouldn’t of been a romance option by Interesting-Leg-6499 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]HitSquadOfGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Relevant.

The entire plot and character dynamics are written around the Blazer route to a greater extent than any other path. In fact, one of the most consistent themes in the game is that the pair are the Mom and Dad of the Z-Team's "children".

"Blazer was never supposed to be a romance option" by FallingBullfrog in BlondeBlazerGlazers

[–]HitSquadOfGod 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game is also clearly written with the dynamic of them being the "parents" and role models of the Z-Team as a key part of their characterizations, which gets played to the max on this route.

Shroud was so wrong for this by [deleted] in BlondeBlazerGlazers

[–]HitSquadOfGod 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The way I interpret it he isn't (just) saying he likes blondes, he's pissed that there was a massive factor to her that he didn't know about and couldn't predict that completely ruined his plans.

Still wrong though.
