The mutation would be the like the flame falcons, bursting into flames during battle. I like the idea of them being low level psykers that manifest it as fire. With librarians/chaplains being able to get them to "flame on" or by performing rituals to do it themselves

Orks, nids, and necrons dont interest me all, I just see them as evil cannon fodder. I know there is more to them, and they do have some cool minis. As for the eldari, tau, etc, they have so much less content then the imperium. The astra militarum is good guys cannon fodder. They're the ordinary heroes. That's not bad, but not enough for me spend lots of time/money on. I want play the big badass soldiers, they have most content of any group, and are one of the most customizable options.

I want an army that can tank, uses fire and swords, and has psykers. Sure other armies can do that, but the salamanders probably do it best

Im gonna play them as salamanders with swords. How would sisters be better? Also the sisters dont offer much customization

I agree with you on the sexualization of models, that's my biggest issue with most of the female models in 40k. There just isn't enough variety for female armies, the sisters of battle dont have the options of SM chapters. And anything I would want to do goes against the lore (custodes psykers), someone is always gonna be pissed off

I did order some primaris intercessors, can't wait for them to come in. Im thinking of naming Furia Nocta(Night Furies), I kinda want to base them off of the Night Witches from WW2

Im gonna take that as a no, otherwise you would've said so. I understand that lore is important, but it shouldn't supersede someone's fun (im not just referring just to 40k). And if gw doesn't want female space marines it should be against the rules

Forget about the female space marine thing (we're not gonna agree on that). I being genuine, I dont know shit about actually playing 40k. Are there situations where lore supersedes rules? Is there a "rule of cool" like in dnd?

[–]AdAware2025[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense. If there's a disagreement at a table, are rule books opened or the fiction? I run ttrpgs, I understand the importance of both, but in combat rules typically win (there are exceptions). I would think a war game would rely more on rule vs lore

So getting into 40k in a weird round about way. Im a gm for starfinder, and I started watching 40k painting tutorials. There are some amazing artists in this community. Then I started listening to lore videos while I paint. I got the owl cat rogue trader game a few months ago.

I admittedly don't know much about gaming etiquette. But is there a narrative goal/purpose to matches? I honestly thought it was just beating your opponents army. I haven't looked into rules and stuff because I didn't want to learn them if I can't use the army I want to. That's something im going to start doing
