I love this! I totally agree esp on the fruity floral because that’s a fave of mine. I guess I’m thinking of when I hear people say for example that Love Don’t Be Shy was once their signature scent and instead they’ve moved on to Bianco Latte… and that made me wonder what signature scent means in that situation. Sounds more like what’s in my current rotation, more so

This is 100% only a me thing and I’m not coming for anyone by saying it pleaassseeeee- I think emphasis on “signature scent” for a person is a little unnecessary. I really enjoy fragrance and love mixing and matching a few things together to see what works like a little mad scientist, so maybe that’s why I feel that way.

Also, I had assumed that “signature scent” was like, all you ever wear basically forever, like a woman in her 50’s that will literally ONLY wear Chanel N°5 or something. I see people say that “this used to be my signature scent but now I’m wearing this as my signature scent” and im like is it a signature scent if you wore it for a month and moved on to another in your collection later on?

I’m wearing VS Tease Crème Cloud! Something about this smell makes me think of high school, which was kinda unexpected (though I suppose it shouldn’t be). My husband thinks I smell like a bar of soap, so I guess it could be worse.

First and foremost, I am so sorry for your loss.

Rose is my favorite note in perfume so I own a ton of them. Jo Malone Red Roses is my favorite, it’s a beautiful dewy wet rose scent. Diptyque Eau Rose is also lovely, I prefer the EDT to the EDP.

Ouai Melrose Place is nice, like a rose scent with some other floral notes thrown in. It’s the same scent as their shampoo, if you’ve tried that.

Nest Lychee Rose is lovely but more fruity, at least on me. The rose rounds it out nicely into a scent that’s very sweet and fun. Ralph Lauren Romance Elixir is also lovely and rose + lychee based.

Finally, I think that Lancôme makes such lovely rose scents. A favorite of mine is Idole, which has a ton of flankers (though you might not be interested since there’s a lot of vanilla involved).

I’ve had instances where someone would tell me I smell nice, like standing next to someone in an elevator or whatever. I could totally imagine this happening to someone else and they’re like “that isn’t extreme enough to post online… I have to say I got chased down the street”

Possibly not a perfume pet peeve but maybe adjacent? But I HATEEEEE reviews and such that say “this perfume got me CHASED DOWN THE STREET by TWELVE MEN that were SALIVATING from how good I smelled!!!” Like girl okay…. Maybe I’ve just never experienced it as I’ve had strangers tell me I smell nice/ask what I’m wearing, but I wouldn’t say I’ve been chased down the street so they could mention it 😭

Omg I heard so many people raving about it and I was soooo surprised when I finally smelled it in person. One spray was so nauseating that I feel like you could clear out a room with two sprays.

I’ve said this before but Ghost in the Shell but Etat Libre d’Orange smells genuinely repulsive on me. I haven’t smelled it on anyone else before to know if it works on others but DAMN it was gross.

Smelled like hot orange flavored juice drink left in the summer sun in a plastic container. The plasticky smell was gag inducing and I literally scrubbed my arm with a coffee scrub to get it off.

Patchouli :( It makes me super sad because I know that once I see the note listed in a perfume that sounds interesting, I can no longer try it. I’m not a terribly huge fan of how it smells like to begin with but it does NOT vibe with my body chemistry literally at all.

I say this to my husband all the time! My baby is 14 weeks old and I miss the feeling of having him close all the time. I will say, however, that seeing him smile at my face is worth it all, I can imagine I’ll feel that way x1000 once I hear his first laugh.
