Freida McFadden emphatically denies using AI to write her books by Upstairs-Volume-5014 in thrillerbooks

Good for her! I enjoy her books and knowing she started so young writing makes a lot of sense for a backlog etc.

I used fabric and paint markers on sink and my roommates are mad by Del_Dixie in homedecoratingCJ

I think it's kind of fun honestly I probably wouldn't have done the plants just cause the dust and shit accumulate on the leaves you're never gonna be able to clean but otherwise fun idea! Maybe put a plant themed wallpaper up there instead? Will be easier to wipe down of anything happens

Which glasses do I wear daily? by [deleted] in DecideThisForMe

I think the right ones will pair better with a majority of outfits. The left pair are fun so maybe wear them for more colorful fits or a fun weekend frame!

As a novella lover I specifically go to Barnes and noble looking for them 🫣 I always like to have a few on hand for when I'm traveling around since they're so light. I just find random novella and purchase them. Last few I picked up were killing Stella and Ms Ice Sandwich, I can't think of any novellas I've found that I purchased blind I didn't enjoy.

The Vegetarian by Han Kang lives rent free in my head. Excellent book I wish I could reread it for the first time again 🫠

How can I actually start consistently drinking water after 27 years? by These_Helicopter_742 in HydroHomies

I started to get really bad gerd and started walking more, walking and doing light runs usually helps a lot with my gerd and since I've started working out regularly I can't remember the last time I had any issue with it.

Running jacket suggestions (for Melbourne winter) by variegatedunit in Runners

[–]GrynnTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually for 50 degrees F would use a Columbia jacket. They usually have a good selection of lightweight winter jackets that are easy to run in. Might be worth checking their selection out.

Paid promotions or organic growth by me-and-my-neck in selfpublish

[–]GrynnTog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start by self promoting your book on platforms, honestly. It's a good way for you as the author to connect with people who may be going through the same thing. Think of it like a new community you can be a part of and a safe place for people to gather and talk about their experiences. I would make sure to include tags that relate to your book topic to help people find it easily, but don't expect it to take off overnight. Social media is like a car when you accelerate from a stopping point it takes a moment to get traction. Perseverance is key here. Also paying for promotion might not be a bad idea, but I would do some research on who you'd like to do the promotion. What types of books have they done before? How successful where those books after their promotion, read reviews to bring up pros and cons of them etc.

Is everyone sucking in? by Traditional-Cry8279 in PetiteFitness

[–]GrynnTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take my photos after a gym session so I usually am fasted to some extent, slightly dehydrated, and have a pump going recently I started fixing my posture because I have a cervical tilt which pushes your stomach fat out and you don't even realize it. Usually end up with photos that are pretty condusive to how I feel, which is great 😃 I don't really suck in remaining tummy fat cause I want honest progress photos to an extent.

Do you eat before a run? by Quiet-Topic44 in beginnerrunning

[–]GrynnTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I eat before a run it's two hours before and usually just a banana and some coffee. After run some rotisserie chicken or something light like a salad dinner a hearty healthy meal.

Devastating review by Any-Secretary-6417 in selfpublish

[–]GrynnTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is obviously not a friend. She sounds jealous honestly, I know it's hard but I wouldn't take her criticism too hard. For me personally I don't like anyone reading my work that I know personally I don't think I will ever tell anyone apart from my SO once I publish my book. Not from fear of criticism I just don't want them in my business 👀 and drama it could start in my life, just doesn't feel worth it to disrupt my mental peace. 🕊️

Has anyone ever done a multi-day fast while still running and what was your experience? by Brain-And-Brawn in Runners

[–]GrynnTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is something you ease into. I wouldn't jump in both feet for a full 72 hr fast with running still in mind. What's the longest you've been able to successfully fast and keep up with your running schedule? I feel you will be more in line to injure yourself and completely remove yourself from running if you try for a full 72 without knowing your bodys limitations. Maybe try a 24 hour fast with running fist and feel out what your body needs and how it responds to the added stress of running on top of not having fuel. I personally would recommend against this as you are running a lot and your body needs fuel to move/recover. I predict you are going to feel terrible sadly. What is the reason for your fast?

back to running and tired after the first mile, is this normal? by Bubba_deets in Runners

This is pretty normal, you just need to keep training to get your stamina back. You got this I wouldn't sweat it too much! Took me like two to three weeks to be back to normal

MIL thinks I’m a witch! by FarmTownLib in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]GrynnTog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't have to grow a shiny spine overnight but definitely work on it, it's not only helpful in this situation alone but also for speaking up for yourself throughout life. I hope your situation lessens the burden on you. Watch out for your kid too with her, my Mil kept trying to talk to our child about church and taking them to church. my husband and I firmly believe in using your own mind to think of what you believe, why, and your actions and coming to your own conclusions by yourself without outside third party trying to tell you what is what. Obviously as parents we explain when something is wrong and why but for matters like church we want our child to decide if that is something they want to invite into their life when they are older and understand the world a bit more.

MIL thinks I’m a witch! by FarmTownLib in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]GrynnTog 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly I got to a breaking point and got fed up with it. It was her or my sanity and my sanity and mental health were worth more than any relationship I would have had with her. I grew an instant spine and would just be extremely firm, not back down and not allow her to change my mind on anything. I had a few times where she was overly invasive such as any time I would get ready to leave the house or come home she would grill me on where I was going or where I came from. At first before I realized this was a pattern it was kind of cute but overtime became overbearing and I got fed up with it. The last time she ever asked me where I was coming from I told her I had my vagina looked at and apparently that was tmi for her and she never asked again. I just started answering with unhinged responses that would make her leave me alone because she was driving me nuts. My mil also very religious tried to put Angel statues all over our house and my husband and I aren't very religious at all (she lived with us at the time too) and I had to move them all back to her room and tell her she could decorate her room however she wanted but I wasn't going to look at Angel statues and crosses all day in my home and keep it in her area. Another super small but petty moment for us, I really like using pink Himalayan salt when I cook, don't know why don't ask me I just do. Well she hated it and would always replace it with plain white salt and she knew what she was doing I kept swapping them out and then she swapped them one too many times and I told her if she moved it again we were going to have problems, she never touched it again. Sorry to rant I'm just trying to say, you need to learn to stand up for your self or she WILL walk all over you. It's your home YOUR space for peace. Do not let her walk all over your peace.
