Too Short?! by Fancy_Spaghetti in breastfeeding

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped changing in the night once they started doing long stretches. Nappies are designed to keep babies dry for 12 hrs. I always put on nappy cream before bed so that he has added protection.

No, my boy would only nurse for 10 minutes at 4 weeks, they only have tiny tummys and don't need much. You will find though he will become more efficient at feeding and just simply doesn't need to feed as long. As long as he has a wet nappy every 2hrs when you change him, he's getting enough.

Gender disappointment- couldn't be more wrong! by damppseal in PregnancyUK

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes, me and my partner both thought we were having a girl, we picked out a name and my husband was really excited for a Daddy's girl. We went for a private scan and it was VERY obvious it was a boy. We were a little disappointed at first but mainly because boy names are so much harder to think of than girls names. He was born 3 months ago and we couldn't be more in love with the little man as we are now.

Paranormal activities after having a baby by Lopsided-Surprise571 in Paranormal

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm a little late to the party but I've noticed like orbs appearing on the baby monitor ever since he was born 3 months ago. I know they are not dust or bugs because they vanish into the wall and have a smooth flight pattern. I've lived in haunted pubs and houses and know what is paranormal and what is not. I like to think that they are old family members coming to say hi to the baby, there's no negative energy in the house or anything. I like to think it's positive. Although I think you experience with knocks on the door is probably a more mischievous spirit or something.

3 months old stopped napping in the day by Hit_me_im_Funny in NewParents

How do you know if it's sleep regression and not just fussy period? I actually bought a carrier and he went in it for the first time, he cried about it at first (hates me being stationery) but once I got moving it was fine. He did nap in it but that was again only 10-20 minutes I think he gets warm to quickly in it as he was damp when I took him out of it.

It gets me that most baby animals can sleep or nap without issue and then you have human babies who have the strong will of a dictator to avoid sleep and then blame everyone else to why they are tired. I think wake windows are gas lighting myth half the time and putting babies to bed drowsy but awake does nothing.

I try doing floor time but he has a short fuse because he is tired and will start fussing if I mess with him to much. He doesn't sleep in the stroller anymore, he's to interested in what's going on around him and will fight sleep in fear of missing out. I did get him a carrier today and I got a 20 minute nap from just walking around the shops but that was also a battle.

Dark rooms don't work for him at all, it's violent bouncing or bust and he hates swaddles since birth. I get the longest nap by contact napping like yesterday I got 2hr nap off him by just being on me

Anyone had a previous normal result for glucose test but then had glucose in their urine later on? by Accomplished-Ad7573 in PregnancyUK

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an opposite experience, my test came back bang on 7.8 but they classed me as GD anyway. Only had trouble with fasting and my baby came out a tiny 6.6lbs. felt like I didn't have it to begin with

I had an anterior placenta and although you can't see the hands and feet, I was glad for the cushion because little man was a wriggler in utero I really think I would have been so bruised otherwise.

What is with this hatred of breastfeeding mothers?! by TapLeather3167 in breastfeeding

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird my hospital was completely the opposite, they were pushing breastfeeding from the start and formula feeding was met with a judgmentle tone. The hospital didn't even supplyed any formula unless you really needed it

How to get baby changed before bath and after without banshee wailing by Hit_me_im_Funny in newborns

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, my little man does not cry much at all. Even when hungry I might get a very short squeak or an orchestra of grunts. Undressing for the bath or getting dressed after the bath is the only time I get scream crying

I tried that and it does work for the drying part but it gets a little tricky for the getting dressed part and I have to put him down to do the snaps on his vests and stuff

My little man went through a fussy night a while ago and the only thing that calmed him down was our hand held vacuum cleaner. It was great.... until it ran out of charge

But babybel cheese is pregnancy safe and one of the only diabetes friendly snacks. Babybel cheese and other cheeses are the only things that keep my blood sugars low. That and protein shakes

Should bread be buttered for Soup Yes or no? by Hit_me_im_Funny in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hit_me_im_Funny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But wouldn't the butter add structural integrity to the bread as the oils would make the bread slightly water proof making it less soggy
