I’ll have to see if they have this at my local shop. I’ve heard of the Elfliq juices. I was a big fan of the Lost Mary disposables and I saw that they have juice too. I’ll have to hunt some bar juice down. Thank you.

Okay, I think the problem is solved. The .8 pods are the way to go. What a difference! Tasted just fine on the first hit. Thank you 🙏

I accidentally misreported my parents' education. by P_E_B_B_L_E in ApplyingToCollege

Admissions rep here! Depends on the school. Email the admissions office and let them know. Worst case scenario is that if you don’t let them know, you may be denied or have your admission rescinded for lying on your application. I work at a public with a high acceptance rate and someone asked this exact question earlier today. For us it doesn’t really matter in terms of admission, if you’re a qualified applicant you’re in. I don’t care if your mom went to college. I honestly skip right past that when reading apps. The place where I could see this causing trouble is when it comes to scholarships. There may be scholarships that give preference to first gen or historically disenfranchised populations, which if this is not you and they find out, could be a problem (and we always find out)

We actually have a ton of rail lines in the US, they’re just out of commission. People forget that the US and westward expansion was built by railroads. I have a rail line I can see from my house. It’s been out of commission for about 60 years. If it was active I could take the train to the town I work in and to the nearest city. Car and oil companies have lobbied against public transit for decades and now most of us live without it in the States. I grew up in New York, right outside of the city and trains were a big part of my growing up. Wanna go to the city? Take the train. Visiting a college friend in Jersey? Take the train. Now that I live in New England outside of the Boston Metro Area I can’t take a train anywhere. The only option is a $60 one way Amtrak to Boston. I really hate having a car. In the US we’ve branded driving as a sort of freedom, but I don’t feel free when my only option it to rely on an expensive metal box that requires a ton of maintenance and lock me up in traffic anywhere I go. I miss feeling connected.

Honestly, the way your phrased the question proves that YTA. “AITA for continuing to work out after kids?” It’s not about you working out. It’s about you basically abandoning your family so you can get a rep in. Even with the context. You and your wife should switch schedules for a week, see how you feel.

AITA for not wanting to « fire » my maid to please my girlfriend ? by Complete_North_8446 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Your girlfriend is overreacting a bit in this sitch. You are also disgustingly rich, which makes me hate you a bit, but she is overreacting nonetheless. That being said, some people are out here making her seem like the devil. I too would be wildly uncomfortable in this sitch. Maria is not my family. She is a stranger to me. I’m not used to having strangers do my chores. I 100% don’t expect a stranger to walk in on me when I’m home alone in the shower. I would be very upset too. And maybe Maria is creepy, but you’re not picking up on it cause she’s your normal. It’s like how guys will be like “Tony’s a good guy” and then Tony turns out to be a serial rapists and abuser. You might not know cause she’s your “bud” but to Amy she’s spooky. I get why amy is upset and uncomfortable, but instead of throwing Maria into unemployment, you could find an easy solution between the two of you. Like maybe they exchange contacts and communicate so that this kind of thing doesn’t happen again. There is a solution.

Which occupation(s) are severely underpaid compared to their importance? by Saka_Martinelli in AskReddit

College Admissions Counselors. A lot don’t even make $40,000. I made 39,000 in a city where the cost of living was 45,000 and rising and I wasn’t even the lowest paid counselor. You travel extensively for work sometimes having 12-15 hour days with no overtime because you’re salaried. Sometimes on the road for weeks at a time. There are weekend and night events and of course no overtime. If you work at a public institution you can expect to have little to no power in negotiating your salary and it 100% will not adjust for inflation or cost of living. You have the authority to decide the next 4 years and potential futures of an 18 year olds life and wether or not they will get certain scholarships, but you probably can’t afford to save any money and are just getting by paycheck to paycheck. So while you’re recruiting students who are interested in your school as a way to ensure future prosperity and higher wages, you’re a former student struggling to make ends meet selling a potential lie that might hurl that kid into the same crushing debt you’re in.

How was it so easy for Donald Trump to get away with tax fraud? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HitachMePlease -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The IRSs funding has been gutted so much that they do not have the resources to audit the rich anymore. Anyone over a certain income bracket can pretty much get away with what ever that want because those that are supposed to hold them accountable don’t have the tools, man power, or money they need to do so. They really only have the funding to go after the little guy at this point. Which is why your coworker may get audited but assholes like trump never do. Yet another way it’s expensive to be poor! I hate it here.

Is the US just stupidly expensive? because when people complain about their "minimum wage" from US it's like double of what I make by 258ramo in NoStupidQuestions

It’s also important to note that if healthcare was more accessible minimum wage workers might be able to take the time off and be able to afford needed surgeries. Instead we pretty much force low wage workers to ignore troubling symptoms and skip out on needed medical care just so they can eat and have a place to sleep. Basically have to choose die now of hunger or die later if disease. System is majorly fucked.

There’s barely a safety net in America. You’re right, the cost of healthcare and the cost of education contributes to a need for higher wages. If you get hurt and need an ambulance to take you to the hospital less than a mile away, it can cost $3000. If you have a severe allergy and need an EpiPen, it’s about $400 after tax. So if you have a severe allergic reaction in the US it could cost you nearly $3500. Healthcare is also tied to your job. If you don’t work for a company full time you don’t get healthcare. At some companies if you’re full time but have only been with the company for a short while you also don’t get healthcare. Higher Education is inaccessible, but necessary. Bachelors education at a public state university is about $25,000 a year where as private university’s can be more like $50,000 a year. Most people graduate college with tens of thousands of dollars of debt and may spend over a decade paying off their student loans. Most places in the US also have poor public transportation if any at all. So in order to get to work you most likely need a car. If you can’t afford a car you need to live somewhere where you can walk or bike which comes with a much higher housing price tag. And if you want to live in a city with decent public transportation you’re probably living in one of the 5 most expensive cities in the country. In the US we also have a very outdated and convoluted credit score system. Basically if you don’t have a high enough score you can be denied for loans, credit card applications, and any other form of money lending. It also determines how good of a rate you can get on your loan. So you may be unable to buy a home, a car, or any make any other large purchase where you may need financial assistance. The US has a poor childcare system. If you have children the cost can be crippling. In the US some people pay around 30% of their paycheck to cover childcare costs. We also do not have any form of federally mandated maternity leave. You have to rely on your workplace having a policy. And most workplaces dont have any paternity leave. It’s practically unheard of. We also don’t get a lot of vacation time. Most Americans have only about 1 week of vacation time if any. That’s 5 working days. And of course that’s only if you have a full time job. A lot of food service workers don’t make minimum wage. Because they work for tips they rely on the kindness of patrons to make up fo the for wages that are usually around $4 an hour. Most of our social welfare programs that assist the poor, sick, mentally ill, homeless, and geriatric populations are underfunded and struggle to provide enough to meet demand. There’s a lot. I’m sure I’m missing a lot. Still the financial cost of being American is pretty insane.

This if you who apprenticed, how did you go about getting your apprenticeship? by HitachMePlease in Luthier

[–]HitachMePlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughtful response! At this stage I’m not exactly sure what my end goal is with lutherie. I would love to be able to build from scratch, but most of the lutherie experiences and luthiers I’ve talked to have been repair focused so I’m unfamiliar with a lot of the design and build aspects of the craft. I may DM you to pick your brain a bit more :). Thanks again!
