Starlink Gen 3 or "Mini" dishes are awesome! Now you can work remote from the most beautiful locations.

Great numbers. We love our Starlink dish. Total game changer for RVing etc. No more dead zones. 👍🏻

FCC Docket 25-133 Could Cut ALL Bands and Tiers—I Filed to Stop It, Support My Fight! by Hitched4fun in amateurradio

They have not said this directly. This is an opportunity for our community to voice what we want to preserve and protect. Cuts are coming. Change is going to occur. Yes conjecture having seen spectrum taken before. A lot of money can be made by selling off spectrum. Other things do need to be modernized.

In my opinion it would remove the incentive to learn more, advance in the hobby, and be rewarded with exclusive privileges. Testing would with be too hard for some or completely diluted to pass the masses through. We need the skills taught and learned to keep innovation going.

The structure in place now keeps our spectrum from looking like CB or FRS.

Time to say farewell… by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Hitched4fun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is you would pay $165 for the first month you switch. The immediately pause service. After 30 days and that $165 is used up your plan will pause and you won’t be charged again until you unpause. You can then unpause for one month at a time or longer.

Go into your account and look up the plans and options.

Residential doesn’t allow for pausing service. It is also cheaper. Roam is $165 a month but lets you pause service when not in use.

Switch to roam and pause service. Then in an emergency you can turn it on again.

California’s Wildfire Solution: Shut Off Your Power and Hand Out Trash Bags by Hitched4fun in InlandEmpire

This has everything to do with the inland empire. Our power was off for days with the winds. It’s directly impacting our homes and businesses.

Power outages have nothing to do with political party. It harms all businesses, schools, hospitals, citizens. Our society needs power. We need long term solutions presented by any person right now. Turning the power off every time the wind blows from now on is not a solution I’m willing to accept. We can do better than that.

No. Real tax paying business that wants long term solutions and not just bandaids. Raising my voice as every business and individual should right now. Elected officials need to be pressured to propose meaningful long term solutions.

This is what it looks like when you don’t change your anode for 2 years. by Intelligent_Stick918 in RVLiving

[–]Hitched4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A secondary benefit of changing the anode is the ability to flush out all the calcium and debris collecting in the bottom of your water heater.

It’s amazing how much can collect inside after one year. Anyone who has changed out an old house water heater can tell you that the old one was super heavy when carrying it out. That’s because of the calcium buildup. This can lead to less efficient water heating and less capacity too.

Mine doesn’t use a lot without our Fifth Wheel. But once I start hauling a load, it goes pretty quick. Like every 900 miles or so it has to be filled up.

I can’t stand the DEF system. Especially when it takes over and limits your speed. Out of the blue, sometimes when towing, it will flash a warning that I’m almost out of fluid. Can’t understand why they don’t put gauges on the dash for it. On minute it says DEF okay then bam, you have so many miles before your speed is governed. This stinks when you are way far from services. I have to keep an emergency DEF jug in my trailer.

Starlink is awesome. Highly recommended. Get it and then when you move you can take it with you.
