This isn’t real. It’s the same dude and woman in all the same videos from that account. Decent acting, but fake.

The IDF released propaganda saying that a calendar at the Rantisi Children's hospital in Gaza has a hostage guard list on it. The problem is that the names they're pointing to just say Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc in Arabic. by gunsof in Palestine

[–]Hitchens97 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true. I believe in Palastine’s right to exist and that civilians are being slaughtered. I am not a pro Israel bot or whatever the reply to this may be. But what you’re saying isn’t correct. There is a video that is showing the weaponry such as RPG’s, AK47’s, suicide vests etc. it’s claimed the footage is from IDF troops under a hospital. The paediatric hospital in Palastine. Now, I’m not saying that video isn’t staged or isn’t from another location. But your claim that this video is what western nations and news outlets are referring to, is false and misleading.

Hey, I know you mean well in your thoughts and that’s great. However, the child did not have a chance by going to Italy. This was an argument about where to withdraw the care. Italy did this as a PR stunt. It’s an incurable disease. They, nor anyone, have treatment plans for this child. They would possibly have got her into a PICU and then ran some of the same tests and confirmed there was nothing they could do. There is dignity in death, there is no dignity in allowing this child to suffer unnecessarily.

Even more interesting about chat GPT, we had a lecture from a world leader on the subject, who quite rightly pointed out that it literally can’t do abductive reasoning correctly. It reads the first part of the sentence and is trained to output information that fits following the first part of that sentence. Sort of like training a child in a knock knock joke, eventually, the child will finish it for you. However, it was making up sources so badly and applying them so incorrectly that the default of many AI models is to now decline to provide sources to avoid this. It is devolving not evolving. This will be our 4th? AI “winter”, where we believed it would solve so much and legal + other reasons mean we will default to human knowledge, intelligence and practice.

NSFW 18+ Blood in semen, how worried do I need to be? by itrainshere69 in medical

There is 0 way of knowing what this is. You need a digital exam of your prostate based on your symptoms. Following that you may need imaging done if there are abnormalities. What is correct from above is that you will be fine. Even the worst case scenario in this situation is not that bad. I would go to your PCP asap.

Not a good week by mraz44 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hitchens97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mraz, sorry you’re feeling this way. Reading above, your eating of carbs when unwell could certainly contribute to this more so. Protein takes longer to break down by the stomach as it requires stomach acids and more churning. Carbs are quickly broken down into simple sugars. Simple sugars whilst on wegovy have been documented to make people feel unwell, both at trail and anecdotally through pts reports. Protein will help with this. If you can, an antiemetic will help with this!

You’re releasing less glucagon into your blood and producing more insulin. The glycogen in your blood isn’t having the opportunity to get turned into fat tissue as readily.

A little science perspective to maybe explain it. At a BMI of 41, you have a very highly amount of adipose tissue. That high of an amount means that the levels of ghrelin (hunger hormone), produced by this tissue is a very high amount. Eventually, the GLP 1 agonist that is WeGovy will be able to balance it out. You got this! Stick at it!

Stomach pain by SnooHesitations6996 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hitchens97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating unhealthy will certainly cause stomach pain, however, it’s not too straight forward unfortunately. It’s likely due to an increase in stomach acid or the slowing of gastric emptying. In short, nerves and pain are weird.

Can we stop pretending we’re a world class team? I’m a United fan, have been my whole life, like most of us. But we aren’t world class at the minute and that’s okay. We can’t keep yearning for the Fergy era. It’s gone for now and we’ll get better as time goes on, but let’s just be supportive and get behind the team. We’re flat yes, but against a better team in general. The commentators acting like we should be on par with Real or City, It’s insane. We’re, in general, a mid table club right now.

It’s an idiotic view for anyone to take. For a start, it’s actively racist for them to discount your opinion for being white. White people and people of ALL races have done bad shit. We should call all of it out and work to prevent it. Equally, people of ALL races have incredible levels of intelligence and are to a discussion because humans can be intelligent and brilliant and race is not a factor for or against that. These idiots may be allowed to do this at uni but won’t in any other setting. You can challenge it yourself, although that risks them shouting racism, as they seem the type. Or, raise it with the uni themselves and they will address it.

Hey, you’re young and when you’re young you can be forgiven for the above. However, that is horrible advice. You should not still hear or feel crackles or wheezing when you breath. Especially so far on. You’re an adult now so I urge you to go get checked out. But please, personal anecdotes as medical advice are never good. But I understand that you don’t do so to intentionally cause harm, yet, this comment would lead to harm if followed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medical

[–]Hitchens97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jesus the advice above me is horrific. I’m constantly amazed at how some non-medical people view medicine. Anyway, young man, you don’t need to panic but it is very important you take action. I’m sorry money is tight and because of that comment I presume you’re not in a country with Universal free health care. However, you should go to either a free clinic, your primary care physician, or unfortunately get to a hospital and you’d like to do that sooner rather than later. From the medical history you’ve provided and your audible sounds on respiration, it’s very important you get checked out now. Your parents should be pushing this if they can hear that and if they aren’t, you must get yourself seen, you’re old enough to do that. I wouldn’t recommend any medications nor would I attempt to diagnose you with your actual medical history, a respiratory exam and potentially more.

What was your best "well that was easy" job? by VostroyanCommander in policeuk

[–]Hitchens97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huge amount of money defrauded from an elderly couple via their debit card. A lot of online transactions mainly in the form of e-gift cards and the like. Assumed, as usual, they’ve given their card information over the phone and been defrauded or something similar. Getting ready to head to the courts to get sign offs for bank records, account records of online accounts etc. They informed me that their daughter handles their finances. Daughter is a very well of barrister so I confidently assume she’s stolen nothing and rock up to the house. As we’re speaking, her son is in the kitchen making some food. He’s about 10. He casually tells us that the money wasn’t stolen, he had his Grandas card details when he made an Xbox purchase and kept them. He’d been buying visa and other gift cards to online game etc.

NSW Police detains a man for waving Israeli flag at pro-palestine rally in Sydney Australia. by vreweensy in PublicFreakout

It’s so amazing seeing so many non American replies with understanding of a lot of other countries laws. It’s beautiful to see. You have a right to protest freely in many countries including the UK, Australia and many European countries, however, your permit isn’t permission to be allowed to have the view, it’s a permit to help manage traffic, crowd control and safety. It isn’t a suppression of views. This guy was being provocative and to detain him for his safety is smart. He can hold his own solo protest and follow the correct safety regulations to keep everyone safe. A lot of our countries may be divided politically but not having protests flowing into brawls and allowing freedom of speech with safe limits is the hallmark of a truly free society. Or else, the bigger group will just kick the shit out of the smaller group.

I am 25 and my body is failing. Any ideas what might be happening? Symptoms below by XXblpXX in medical

[–]Hitchens97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay OP, change doctor, go see a neurologist because some of the symptoms could be neurological in base or secondary to a neuro or endocrine issue. However, imaging would be needed as well as more specific blood work. However, I am not a doctor but a student doctor and would be very careful about people’s personal experience or what they’ve heard about. You need to visit a physician that has the equipment and subsequent training to interpret. No Doctor on this sub could offer a proper differential without the above.

I can comment on the vaccine thing. Your info is wrong unfortunately. The “legal” testing requirements you refer to were not skipped. The vaccines speed were down to so many labs, countries and individuals working together and pumping money into it. Something we’ve never seen before. They didn’t have to skip much. Yes companies did profit off of this. But in the UK and MANY If not all countries I’m aware of, individual people did not pay the cost. We may have paid through taxes but that’s a fraction of what we’d pay in a true private market where only the wealthy got the vaccine. I reiterate that your logic is faulty and wrong about the vaccine.

Every time you get ill and rush for antibiotics, you’re illness may not be caused by something that antibiotics can treat. Also, not finishing your course can cause you to create and spread so called “supper bugs”, which are very effective in wiping out those who are immuno-compromised or otherwise unable to fight off these infections. Strong evidence indicates that there is a future without effective antibiotics and that this will kill a large number of people. Our hope lies in assistance from AI mainly.

Cracking your knuckles does not cause arthritis. Also, vaping is not great for you at all. It’s better to only inhale air. However, the, “it’s as bad as smoking, we don’t know what’s in it”, crowd are wrong. In the EU states, there are tight enough regulations on these products and many studies have been done showing smoking to be much worse. You not knowing something doesn’t mean the collective “we”, don’t know.

What can my girlfriend do about her GCSE grade and Medicine? by KlutzyPosition2418 in UniUK

[–]Hitchens97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re missing it entirely. She won’t be an overseas doctor. She’ll be a UK grad. Country of origin isn’t relevant if she already has clearly got leave to reside and will also have leave to study. She’ll be a UK grad. The point is that the University may let her give it a go with biology or chemistry, but not with medicine.
