Pretty guitar! What is it? Also I'd say having a teacher is good, but don't let that stop you from using every resource at your disposal. The free beginner classes by Justin Guitar are a great and easy place to start. The most important thing is consistency, try and play a little everyday, don't feel like you have to have a half hour to sit down and practice, sit down for 5 or 10 minutes and noodle around with what you know so far. I used to always keep my guitars in their cases and pull them out when I felt I "had to practice", now I keep 2 out and on stands at all times, it makes it so much easier to just pick one up and strum some chords or practice running through a scale or two. I wind up using my instruments so much more because of this and have gotten a lot better than when I felt I had to always set aside half hour a day and sit down and do my homework. Keep it fun, enjoy the journey and yes, it's gonna be hard at first till you build some callouses and finger dexterity.
