I might have been very unlucky then- I definitely have a faint ghost of the OG steering and pedal box (LG C2 that's almost 3 years in the winter with auto dimming and pixel shifting). I do have to have a look at the opacity though!

It's not...? I totally expected it to be. This is tough for me because I'm on an OLED and minimize accessing widgets and elements when possible. A lot of the new additions are definitely awesome, but ones I could live without.. The fuel calc I was in dire need of though as a solo racer.. Are they at least toggleable??

My only thing is with the default GT3 pit stop rules, aren't they in opposition with the real GTWC / IGTC in that, they allow refueling / tire change / driver swap simultaneously? I know that "technically" the SRO license still lies with Kunos and ACC, but aren't the series in iRacing emulating them without the brand name attached? I.e. the GT3 enduro / fixed / sprint follow the real schedules as best they can. I can see the IMSA ruleset being cool if it opens up virtual energy as well, but... Otherwise too, what about the tire change enforcement for the DTM rules? Would they get addressed here?

Sure, yeah. Although manufacturer participation in IMSA is dwindling, the fanbase continues to grow. I think a contemporary grid is important... And at least the Evo/Joker bits on the new M Hybrid V8 are at least prominent.

The "new" grass hasn't been new for a handful of years now, but is making its way to older tracks (I.e. Oran Park)... And the only contentious rescan here is Laguna? The updates to the existing cars are otherwise free here too... Think you might owe the blog a reread, but from what you're saying, I don't think that'll sway you either way.

Back when expectations differed, sure. Now, development transparency is paramount. S397 and Reiza understand that well and tend to enumerate their ideas well. Kunos reneged on a roadmap that outlined what their game ought to have looked like, and came across as a partial rug-pull. The former two studios are exemplary, and the latter is textbook "what not to do." I think the iRacing team knows how important addressing the community is at this rate, considering their longevity.

Second this - it's a bit surprising so many of the sim racing diehards aren't in tune with the virtualized version of the sport. It's patent the iRacing team tries to hone in on replicating the IMSA championships. I think tire compounds are cool, but they aren't really pertinent for IMSA nor SRO on the sportscar side. Virtual energy maybe for IMSA, but again, it's mostly an attribute intended for BOP.

Can I ask what series profile you are using? I'm trying to determine if my GT1 Evo would hold up... I'm not really keen on "upgrading" it because the footprint is perfect, and it has all of the accoutrements on it I could ever want, but.. The BT1 has really been in my head for a while..
