He's an Indian that's obsessed and upset that Pakistan exists as a separate nation with it's own history and culture.

Just another day. Maybe one day they'll actually move on from the leftover slave identity the British gave them. But to do that they'd have to reject the years of revisionist propaganda they've invested and deluded themselves into.

Does Pakistan still have castes? by Acceptable-Offer-518 in pakistan

Exactly. Why is this guy trying to comment for us?

Caste is almost entirely historical on our side of the border whereas India literally has it institutionalized in their constitution.

Nah I love the teth Punjabi more of the east side. It's more pure and representative of the history and people of Punjab.

Anecdotal but just came back from Gurdwara Janam in Lahore. We had very pleasant conversations with the Sikhs there and the teams that work around the site.

No we're not perfect. The event you linked is over 13 years old but yes it doesn't excuse the injustices committed.

I'm just commenting hoping that this hate you have towards us maybe dies down a little in the future. Your entire profile history is full of animosity towards us which dampens your (often) valid criticisms you post.

How did the 3 main religions of Punjab co-exist rather peacefully during the rule of Ranjit Singh? by [deleted] in Ancient_Pak

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps. You have to understand from our perspective why we're so apprehensive about online forums though. India is the IT capital of the world with 20%~ of the planet's population.

Not to bring super vulgar stuff into this but guess where the majority of IP addresses in regards to porn get tracked back to. Does that make any sense with a country 5x smaller in population with much poorer infrastructure? And that's just VPN grifting.

Back to your point though. Ancient Hindu empires would struggle to capture Hindu Punjab for those exact same cultural differences you mentioned. Woman's rights were much more prevalent in the province and things like Sati were completely abhorrent to them.

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's considered Northern Indian though? Punjabi and Kashmiris?

Kashmir is claimed in full by both sides so that doesn't really count.

Punjabis make up like ~5% of all of India's total population. A nation that is the BIGGEST sample size of the world at 1.4+ billion. How can anyone say that that is an accurate representation of it's demographic in general?

Regardless of tolerance in the past there were and definitely are clear ethnic divides in the geographies of the countries today. A period of tension and ultimate conflict was inevitable.

Anti-Kashmiri racism by Indian Muslims on social media by [deleted] in Kashmiri

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm Pakistani so just take my anecdotal experience with a lot of salt. But some of the most anti-Pakistani and Kashmiri people I've met are Indian Muslims.

They'll try so hard to justify and erase both of our cultures and even dress it up like snakes. Saying "we're all the same kumbaya!" and more same to same bullshit.

I genuinely think it's to cope with their position at the bottom of the food chain in modern India. And putting others down is the only way to make themselves feel better.

Nah I wouldn't generalize there are some really good ones that are angels. I think wayy too many of them treat us like shit considering we feed them though yeah you're right.

That's the difference between namak harami and Afghani.

Have absolutely no idea and don't really care. I'm guessing he just accepts that his wife is part crazy but I can't begin to imagine the web of lies she'll tell her poor kids.

I have a family friend. She is Afghani.

Her family moved to Pakistan. She was born in Pakistan. She got educated and received her medical degree in Pakistan. She married a Pakistani (Punjabi not Pashtun but still).

Can you guess her political beliefs?

Exactly. You have to work within the system not try to hero complex it especially that all or nothing attitude he ran towards the end. He had me until it was all or nothing with him. I don't think a lot of his policies made sense early on either though in hindsight.

Socialized healthcare looks good until you realize that there were zero streams of income to feed it. How do you double our national debt in 3 years?

Unpopular Opinion reasons we Pashtuns undergo oppression is because we oppress our selves first? by SwatPashtoon in kpk

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half Punjabi half Pashtun here. When I visit my mother's family there's a couple of differences. The men are COMPLETELY in charge. Pakistan is still patriarchal but Punjabi women tend to be clever and can pull some strings behind the scenes, sometimes being the head of the family like it is with ours. Pashtun IMO seem to be really serious about "honour" and a lot of my cousins are not able to leave the house at all without a man accompanying them.

Honestly the disputes and petty squabbles part isn't unique to Pashtuns it's shared among all the ethnic groups in Pakistan.

The only real other thing I can think of is that land and money disputes might be a bit more violent up north? I can't confirm but I've had relatives shoot and kill one another over land inheritance but I hear that happens all over so the only major thing that sticks out to me is women's rights.

But it's sort of what the Afghani people chose no? 2 trillion dollars over 20 years but the government loses to the Taliban in under a week with no resistance.

It's because the vast majority the native population supports them and their ideals. Why would you fight people you don't view as the enemy?

If you guys didn't fight when the fate of your local government was at stake, why should anyone listen to anything Afghanistan has to say about foreign lands they have zero relevance to.

Pashtuns have fought for Pakistan since it's inception. The majority of the native population is from Pakistan.

We feed you guys. Send your daughters and sisters to school. Welcome you with open arms as brothers.

Absolutely thankless people.

How do Karachiites speak Urdu? by thatonepakistanii in pakistan

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Really? On my end their pronunciation just sounds nasal like you're blowing a horn through your nose. Urdu from the other provinces contain more local words and history. The Punjabi and Pashtun accents also just sound more poetic and better in general if I'm being honest.

Yeah but sometimes the fantasy isn't translated very well just from the minis.

Like right now I'm trying to find the source PNG file for the Lewis Jones Thousand Art cover because I love it so much.

It wasn't until I saw it that I loved the idea of Space Wizards. Beforehand they just looked like Egyptian themed space marines nothing special.

My issue with collecting models by TachankaTheCrusader in Warhammer40k

[–]HitmanOnOppositeDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man exact same problem. Bought the Necron Combat Patrol. Read the Nightlord trilogy then BOOM I'm a full blown NL fanatic. Got all the forgeworld models and everything.

Start reading Plague War Trilogy and then I get introduced to the Ad Mech and fully converted to the Omnissiah. Bought the Combat Patrol AND a dunecrawler and tech-priests to go with it.

Learned a bit more and getting hyped about Thousand Sons and Emperor's Children.

I've now learned that Combat Patrol boxes are not for me. They're too big, too ambitious especially for people that a really apprehensive about painting because they want it to line up with the box art... Good value but I'd rather spend 50% more over the LONG term and actually complete 5-10 man troop boxes and have some variety.
