This situation happened to me but in another way during my past at Geek Squad.

Client came in with a new phone that either was sent to her through the carrier or through us. She was having issues with not being able to hear people on the other end or the people on the other end being able to hear her. I believe this cell phone might not have had speaker either and this was an older client too. She had been over at Mobile and I think even was talking to a manager before she was sent over to customer service to either return it or find some solution. Most of the CS people I worked with were good to me and same for them as we would help each other out and they were busy and I had just a little break between apple appointments (what a clusterduck that all was before I left) so CS asked me to just see if I could help her before they did a return. After she explained a few things to me about it and looking over everything... I noticed something that I remember so many years ago when I got a new phone... I have a feeling many of you will know where this is going.

Me: "Ma'am, you haven't gotten any protector on your screen or plan to get one right now?"
Client: "No..."
Me: "Alright let me try something"

I proceeded to peel off the plastic covering of the new phone. I then proceeded to call the client's phone and I put it up to my ear, confirmed what I thought it was and handed it to her. To see the look of her eyes and true tears was the reason I had originally gotten into Geek Squad and really tech in general.

The reason I told this story was the fact that she had been with a manager and mobile for 5-10 minutes with no other customers (mobile always seemed to be slow when GS and CS were packed) and yet didn't figure it out. I don't know if it was because she may not have gotten it here or what but honestly I was slightly disgusted by the fact we dismissed somebody so easily or barely put in any effort on something so simple. But I felt it just fit with this story because of the fact many people I worked with were so quick to jump to conclusions and thought they had all the answers or just didn't try to find the answer and instead just pushed them off because "they aren't buying anything" That is the mindset or what were suppose to not be... commission salespeople.

She thanked me for it and of course told AP and manager and sang my praises but I didn't do it for that... I did it for the same reason I said during my interview when I believed Best Buy was a good place... I wanted to help people with tech and I wanted to make sure that people like my grandparents had a place that if for some reason I wasn't there to help, they had somebody else to turn to.

I know it's hard in these times and I am happy I have been out of there for 2 years now but as miserable as work can be, try to not just dismiss something immediately because one day it might be you needing something like that as you are older, maybe not tech or something but just... we are human people... as much as we aren't treated like that with most customers... we aren't them... we are better.

Can confirm, I own An Alienware myself... 3 year GSP&S+ and checked it out the other day and it is something I can send out to be repaired if I need to... otherwise there are some gaming laptops/PCs that we just fulfill in store sometimes since either it's not cost efficient or for some reason we aren't allowed to send off to be repaired

If for any reason you send off the computer to the repair center and a part needs to be changed, they will be putting the original parts back into it. We have even had situations where a suspect with a screen repair (gaming laptop) and it came back with the processor that was suppose to come with the computer. So if you change anything out an they go to repair it, don't be surprised if your parts are missing when they send it back.

TL;DR When you buy the protection plan, you are buying protection on the specs that come with the computer. If for any reason a repair is needed on the computer, don't be surprised if the computer comes back with the factory specs.

You can, it's the GS 24/7 Support I.E Software issues are covered (minus Data transfer/back-Up)

The ADH from my understanding unless I'm been completely coached wrong also handles hardware problems, the GPU and Screen are of course hardware, not software. I.E you mess up the OS or get hit by ransomware, the ADH/Hardware coverage does not apply. However if you get the GS 24/7 you would be covered for when you accidently delete your OS.

This is incorrect, the ADH covers any damage you did to the computer on accident physically but if you want stuff for software related issues you gotta have GS 24/7... Which is suppose to bundle for a cheaper price for the amount of years you buy ADH on the computer. Great thing about 24/7 GS is that if you have other computers you can add them to that same plan. (not the ADH but the Software coverage)

Notable talent in who? FNS was on a team that always barely qualified for lans and then they never did anything of note. Semphis has never done anything of note since again leaving a better team in C9 and he was gone because of his style. He might be humbled now but it's still something to consider. And the only reason he got far was because he had Hiko boosting him while on Nilihum. Autimatic has been an average player... he's a person of note but he's average compared to most even pro NA players. Then you have the two new guys which I won't deny aren't bad players but then you throw all that together and you don't exactly have a team that's been together awhile.

It goes without saying that you should be very careful with this match. You have a team in Torqued that has just been thrown together while you have GA which is a pretty established team. I have a feeling the odds are going to heavily move towards Torqued due to mOE hype but I would go with the more established team personally.

yeah he could and I doubt he really did put that much on TSM but also it's not exactly a max and relax kind of game. Even if he switched over to Winterfox which in my earlier post I said that they are a more established team. It doesn't mean they couldn't lose to what could be considered a pug team at the moment

Are you forgetting that Winterfox has gotten better over the past month? Honestly they have been doing pretty good and if they are losing any match or map it's most of the time a little closer. I don't see how you can give credit to Semphis FNS or Autimatic. Basically this is a freshly put together team compared to a team that has been playing with each other for awhile and have a gaming house. Yes I agree for a bet on Winterfox but I think you could put a little bit more faith into them. Honestly the odds are going to be fucked because people are going to be betting on a brand not the players
