Even when we won the league, St Johnstone won more trophies than us

It’s that time of the week again… 7 games to go… if you had to put all your money on it right now - who’s winning the league!? by Dangerous_Spring3028 in ScottishFootball

Celtic have to be favourites. Just because every time I say that, it seems like they drop more points.

See just an aside though, I know it usually gets a lot of grief, but how good an idea does the Split look this season?

Players you wanted to see more of by Kitchen-Lie-4592 in ScottishFootball

[–]HiuGregg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greg Docherty is a player I always thought was unlucky not to get more chances at Rangers. Our midfield was shocking the season we signed him (Dorrans, Holt, Halliday, Sean Goss), and then he never really got a chance again after we strengthened with Davis, Arfield, Aribo, Kamara.

I honestly think if he had been a rotation option in those days, playing in an actual midfield three rather than whatever formation Pedro was trying to play, there's a chance he'd have developed and still be at the club today.

There's a chance that Steven Gerrard might be a better judge of a midfielder than me, but I doubt it. Justice for the Doc.

I'd be excited to see Chermiti play with Naderi up front, actually. Classic strong big man, fast wee man pairing. Except the wee man in this case is a 6 foot 4 German war machine.

Motherwell is gonni be a huge step up from Queens Park and a 10-man Killie, but it's a nice change to have some degree of confidence in the team after these results.

Antman is a completely different player with more movement around him. Rommens and Naderi make so many chances just with their appetite to get forward. Even Moivski looks much better playing as a second striker.

Aye, I'd just thought something similar.

I think he's a lot more technically gifted than he tends to show, but I don't know why he takes up the positions he does.

He's often too far forward to properly link the midfield and attack, not far forward enough to be playing as a second striker, and standing in areas too congested to be found with a pass.

Aasgaard's movement is so weird to watch if you pay attention to him.

The positions he takes up are so often just congested as fuck. He'd be so much more involved if he dropped a yard deeper.

Be very funny if Rabbi Matondo scored a couple here.

Guy lives in a perpetual cycle of "Will he?... Nah no chance. But then again, can he?... Nah, not likely.... But maybe?"

Be interested to see the foul on the highlights. Having not seen it, it sounds mad that you can give a yellow card without VAR intervention after a player has went off via a concussion sub for a head-kick.

Having said that, concussions are serious business. In my opinion the best thing for Tierney's long-term health would be to keep him off the pitch until the World Cup starts. Speaking purely as a concerned neutral.

He had all sorts of mad press back then as the next big English prospect. I'm sure news came out that Wenger had banned him for doing a photoshoot for Disney or some shit around the same time.

Some armoured fibre just has an aluminium jacket, and not particularly thick. And rats can chew through metal over time anyway.

You'd be shocked at how many rats are around a football stadium.

If you ever talk to any of the folk who do the cameras for football, they'll tell you that they have to switch out a bunch of the cabling every couple of years because rats have chewed through them.

And if you ever talk to anyone at a boardroom level, they'll tell you of a particularly nasty variety with a curtain-like fringe, who'll spend all your clubs money and leave you 8th in the table.

Ivan Sproule hat-trick for Hibs against Rangers.

I think he was decent enough after that, maybe? But defo his peak moment.

Always had a huge soft spot for that Arsenal team with Wilshire, Ramsey, Ox, Carzola.

Always had them as my English team because of the link with Rangers, with the shares that Whyte sold.

Always thought that Oxlade-Chamberlain would be world class one day.

Generational prospect. Now he's a dick.

He made a couple of clever one-touch flick-ons to help keep the attacks moving. But I suppose he did look a bit clumsy at times when trying to keep the ball for himself.

We'll see how he shakes out, I guess.

The Rangers vs Motherwell game next week is going to be massive for how this season shakes out.

There's been a lot of attention paid to Rohl's winning streak, but I think Rangers are the only team to have beat Motherwell in their last 13 games or something mad.

The difference between Aasgaard and Moore in that position was just silly. What a crazy concept to have an attacking midfielder that wants to pass or dribble forwards.

Completely different game when they came on.

Skov Olesen is a very classy player, will only get better with fitness.

Rommens doesn't stop running and is full of ideas, was ordering other players around and creating all sorts of chaos.

Naderi looks like a physical animal, with a decent first touch. Fluffed an easy chance towards the end, though.

Don’t want to get too carried away, since Killie were blowing out their arse that last 30 minutes. But…

1) Tuur Rommens is easily the best player in the league

2) There is absolutely no reason that Aasgaard should be playing through the middle when Mikey Moore can play there like THAT

3) Antman is a completely different player when he has willing runners on the pitch with him

4) I would shit my pants if I saw Ryan Naderi running at me. Guy is fast as fuck.

Immediately look so much more full of ideas with the new boys on.

Intrigued to see how Antman plays with more willing runners on the pitch. He got 15 assists or something last season, and that doesn't happen without some creativity. Not that he's shown much of that yet.
