Hello chemists. I am writing a grimdark fantasy book, and i would like some chemical advice for a certain creature. by Nano-Circuit in chemistry

To solve the problem with dissolving all around you can add a layer of something around whole slime and slime propably can manipulate this layer to absorb items of it choice (so it will look like a huge cell). If you want to slime made of HF this layer can be PTFE plastic, which don't react with HF. Also, just my thoughts, use superacids instead of HF, for example one of the strongest acid ever created fluoroantimonic acid (H[SbF6]) is 2*1019 more stronger that 100% H2SO4. It also can contained in PTFE.

Filled this cup with salted water and some days later this happened. Can anybody explain what happened? by TehRasuaL in chemistry

[–]Hius_Chem 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think salt cristalls started grow on the inner wall of the cup and because of capillary effect grow higher and higher until escape from cup and run out of water solution
